I am not sure what happened. I reflashed the bios chip and computer is not switching to 20V. I checked the issue and PL201 coil (part of PU200) is measuring only 20 ohms which indicates a short to me. I will address this first, then report whether the password is gone.Comment

Ok, I reflashed the bios. On 1st boot computer fan runs at full spead. On 2nd boot the keyboard backlight comes on along with the charging light. Then, the whole thing turns off and repeats the cycle.
I soldered the original bin and the computer boots with the password. Can you rework your bin file for me to try again?

Try again the same unlocked file , don't forget to disconnect cmos and Hdd/SSDComment

Yes. I reflashed the bios chip with the original content and the computer booted with the admin password again. I then located this particular bios file, had the bios chip reflashed and the computer booted without the password. I just had to update the service tag as it was empty per instructions.

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I threw in the display and my hypothesis was correct, however, I was greeted with a locked BIOS and since I didn't know the password, I figured I'd try to unlock it somehow. 3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"

I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.
so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, 😅😅😅... -
