Well that's a shame my friend because no one can help you unlock your password, you have the model where the ME region or EC region was divided into an 8MB chip and the BIOS region was divided into a 16MB chip, for whatever reason.
In later models only a 32MB chip was installed.
It's not enough to just upload a BIOS file, it should be the right one.

                              You're right, I have a defective motherboard from a Dell 5400 notebook LA-894P there is only a 16MB BIOS chip UC5.
You don't have an 8MB BIOS chip, but your original BIOS file is damaged and the entire ME EC region is missing.

                                Hello,
I am completely new to bios flashing and I am kinda lost...
My situation is similar to the one above.. I do not have a chip in UC5 only one in UC6... I could desolder it to dump the data but the data file that I obtain is a 32 MB file... And I saw it should only be 8MB... What that means? Did I get the wrong chip ? Which software can I use in linux to be able to patch my BIOS file?

                                Thanks,
                                Jorge

Thanks for the help! I have just attached to this message my BIOS dump. I greatly appreciate the help. I would also like to learn what was done to patch... Could you also pinpoint a place where I can learn how to perform the Hex Editing and some information about the different BIOS regions and why people have different sizes in the same laptop model ? Thanks!!

some laptops have 2 bios chipsets, main and EC. for bios regions use UEFITool. HxD has user guide, read it.

here is your modified bios, at 1st boot (let it run for 2 mins, it will restart several times with no image) press F1, write service tag, save (apply changes) then exit. 2nd boot press Alt+F to exit manufacturing mode.

To make technical questions can be done on this forum or it is only for requests ? I am comparing the modified file with the original one to see what to change and I see you changed only 4 bytes from AA to 00... Is this right? how you determine which bytes have to be modified ?

                                        Thank you!

Hi there masters, recently i got a dell 5400 chromebook and wanted to install windows, i searched the internet and i found out other people also wanting a UEFI bios for this model, i searched there is a R/W legacy, but there are bugs like keyboard/trackpad not working, and hard to install.

so i decided to try to port one, this bios is based on dell 5400 windows version, i am testing this bios for a week now an found only a little to no bug at all in windows 10, or only a minor issue
in windows 11 sound driver compatibility, but overall its ok, for me i can deal with it, šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…...

                                          Dell latitude 5580, motherboard cdp 80 la-e151p

3 amber 3 white blinks. Dell website sais it's problem "bios recovery" and suggested solution "recovery image not found"
                                          (from here https://www.dell.com/support/manuals...e7a&lang=en-us)

I try plugging charger while pressing ctrl+esc, machine turns on, nothing and after 20 seconds it gives 3 amber 3 white blinks again.

Since ssd is replaced and had clean install windows, i've...

Dell Latitude 5431 issues with dumping bios
                                          by Sathsul
So, i kinda spend significant ammount of the last couple of days trying to flash a new bios, and or unlocking the current bios password with little to no results.
The whole thing started with it being the 8fc8 bios, i found the tools to unlock that but i needed a bios dump. So i pursued that, im at a point where i dessoudered the chip, and succesfully soudered it to the ch341, dumped whatever was on it.
However, the tools supposed to unlock the 8fc8 say that there is no 8fc8 hex inside. And when i followed diffrent tutorials to just flash a new bios onto the chip i got stuck on the...

Dell Latitude 5490 (LA-F401P) - Boots from USB-C only, not from DC Jack after BIOS flash

                                          Hello everyone,
I'm working on a Dell Latitude 5490 with a LA-F401P motherboard that has a very peculiar issue, and I would appreciate your insights.
                                          Initial Problem:
The laptop was completely dead, no signs of life, no power LED.
                                          Action Taken:
I flashed the main BIOS chip with a clean dump. This brought the machine back to life, but with a strange limitation.
Current Situation & The Main Issue:
The laptop now works perfectly when powered through the USB-C port. It charges the battery, powers on, boots into the OS, and functions 100% correctly....
