                  Thank you !
boot is now fast, there is a licence in the bios, but it doesn't activate. ( I a m trying a reinstall from scratch right now , maybe other bios has messed up something )

Is there a tutorial somewhere to learn what you dit and what tools to achieve? I like doing things myself but I was in hurry because this dead computer is for a friend leaving friday

=> When I go in the bios yuu provided me the serial number is not correct : R90TAZPW and licence not activating

                      Hi,
I got two Lenovo V130-15ikb laptops from a small elementary school; I'm going to try to get them up and running again.
When switching on, only the capslock button is permanently lit and the power button, fans turn but no image
the 2 shells with their labels and serial numbers R90QYVT1 and R90QYW4X have been separated from the motherboards in the hope that there won't be a third laptop in the game.
I tried to extract the S/N by myself with tools (ifrextractor/UEFIextractor) but it's way beyond my skills.
Thanks for welcoming me and I hope to find some help here.

Here are the two bios backups 🔽

Hi peste, I've never been so excited about a BIOS screen; these 2 screens will soon be putting smiles on the faces of pupils (and teachers, of course); I think there's now one last step for the indispensable Windows licenses.

                                  Thanks for your help.
Here's what I think I understood: I dragged and dropped the official bios update 8vcn31ww.exe file into innoextract.exe, which generated 8VCN31WW.cap.
Following your instructions, I don't understand what I'm doing or what I should do now.

I'm lost, but by re-reading the forum I've finally discovered the important lines 201000 (S/N) and 27D5D0 (Winkey). I see that I'm pretty close to the result, but I'm much less agile with a computer than with a chisel and sledgehammer on the vault of Notre Dame de Paris.

Would you please be more didactic and suggest a bios for me to test?

Just use the already extracted bios at post 9 or 11 and then read the README.txt in my last post to add the DMI using the CopyDMI script.

For some reason my browser opened your link on post # 61 instead of # 75 At last it's done: the 2 laptops are fine thanks to your really handy script.

1- Now I'm hesitating: is it advisable to upgrade normally with .exe to 8VCN31WW?
2- Another laptop from this school suffers from a slightly less annoying but quite serious problem: it is stuck with black screen after going to sleep mode.
This is a known problem, but to my knowledge it hasn't been resolved. Do you think that applying the same method will correct the problem?

                                        1. you can update with the exe, if it goes wrong you have a backup to flash it back. It may automatically update via microsoft update unless you turn off a setting in the bios called capsule updates (or something like that,it may be called something different)
                                        2. Make a backup if possible, update using the exe.

Need BIOS Dump/ROM for Lenovo Thinkstation p500
                                      by AHmad_Salal
                                      Hello all,
I have a Lenovo Thinkstation P500 that is stuck at post with no display, it happened after I changed the memory timings in bios. I can not clear CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard, also tried re-flashing bios suing a USB stick but it also doesn't work. The only solution that I can think of right now is re-flashing the bios chip using an external programmer but the problem is that I don't have the bios dump of p500 for flashing externally and I don't know the location of bios chip. If someone can provide the bios dump and bios chip location it would be really helpful....

Request HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 (J06) BIOS dump to restore system firmware
                                      by Ahari
                                      Hi all,

This is my first post here (I am very new to forums!) and I hope someone can help. I am looking for a full dump of the BIOS of a HP Proliant Microserver Gen 8 so that I can get this mini server running again. (BIOS version J06 2019-04-04, chip 25Q064A). I think my board was partially bricked after a failed BIOS update.

I got it second hand in this state and all the normal attempts at bios restoration have not worked. I have even desoldered the chip and tried to load the actual BIOS from HP, but it is missing some parts needed to boot the system.

                                      I...

[REQUEST] 2MB BIOS Dump for Lenovo NM-E471 Rev 2.0 (Winbond 25Q16JWSIQ Chip)
                                      by hyperwood
                                      Hi everyone,

                                      I’m looking for a 2 MB BIOS dump for a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 16ARH7H / Legion 5 with mainboard NM-E471 Rev. 2.0.

The BIOS chip is a Winbond W25Q16FW (1.8V, 2MB) and it's completely unresponsive / bricked. I tried recovery via USB but no success. Now I want to reflash it externally using a CH341A programmer.

I already found 32MB dumps (e.g. from Vinafix and Badcaps), but they are too large for the chip – and the last 2MB in those files are just FF FF FF....

                                      ✅ What I need:
                                      • A working 2MB BIOS dump
                                      • Matching NM-E471 Rev. 2.0, e.g. JY575
                                      ...

I need a BIOS dump for the Samsung S49CG934SU monitor
                                      by Habble7
The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.

                                      Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

                                      Troubleshooting Attempts:
                                      ...

Hi all! I was reading on tutorials how to flash a bios to remove password from a bios, and I ended up reading the EC chip instead of the main bios chip, it only gave me a .bin file of 1,024kb, I learned later that that is the EC chip not the main bios chip (I should have read the tutorials here instead before attempting anything, my bad), I went to flash the original backup, the 1,024kb size file into the same chip and laptop is not powering up anymore. I may have screwed the chip or even the motherboard (Hopefully not), I am trying to see if there is a fix before I discard it. I had a couple...
