Re: Lenovo V130-15IKB bios dump
I tried flash back my backup, same as before - boot to black screen.
Flashed back #21, working without WIN key.
Probably will keep working state and will crack WIN.Comment

Hello dear forum members.
I also have a Lenovo V130-15ikb here with the same problem as most of you.
When switching on, only the capslock button is permanently lit and the power button, fans turn but no image.
This happened after a bios update.
Here possibly important data:
Lenovo V130-15ikb
Model name: 81HN
SN: R90RV43F
MTM: 81HN00E0GE
MO: R9N0B8925012
The read bios as a backup can never be complete with the small size, but the bios chip is recognised:
Manufacturer: Macronix
Type; Serial Flash Memory
Size: 64mbit
I'll upload the file for you to view and check. Can any DMI data be found in the small backup file?
Maybe someone can help me please.
Best regards to all.

Hello SMDFlea,
thank you for your quick reply.
Unfortunately I have no experience with this, but I'll see what I can do.
I thought the one I read out was faulty because I got the error when I read it out:

Hi again,
as you could see earlier in the log file, the reading only took max. 5 seconds!
I think this is too short, or is this normal?
In combination with the Verify False it would be good to have someone who is fit in the subject check the bios please briefly
for content and DMI files before I overwrite it.
Best regards

PS: Ahh, you posted shortly before me. I will try, thanks a lot.Comment

Something is unfortunately wrong, sorry for the inconvenience.
I used before a very simple Eeprom programmer, which worked well.
Now, for the first time, I have a more expensive SVOD4 and I only get error messages like the following,
maybe I'm doing something wrong, was the bios I read out earlier usable?
I thing i search for the old programmer to test, but it was a long time not used, i hope i find it.

I already use the old programmer with the
good Pomana Clip. Never had any problems.
The PIN check also says that all pins are recognised correctly.
I think it will be tomorrow with the search for the old device.
Hmm, you write that you should go back to older software, maybe still an option.
Thanks for your help anyway.Comment

Hello SMDFlea,
I have find and just started with a 5 Euro part ch341a with mod and the AsProgrammer1. 29 and flashed it successfully.
Were you able to extract the DMI data from the backup including the uuid?
It's a shame that the 5 Euro part does the job while the almost 300 Euro part goes on strike... 😭
Thank you very much, if everything was taken over by you at dmi data everything fits, it does boot.
Best regards

Hello SMDFlea,
thank you!
Hmm, then the backup was basically despite the error message
of the SVOD4 was ok after all?
Thought because this error message came in combination that the readout took only about 4 seconds,
the file was defective. With the Ch341a it took much longer! And it didn't give an error message.
It would be good to know if the SVOD4 itself is ok.
Have you been able to find the thread where this was mentioned before?
Best regards
ITFan
PS: Was this bios you used the newest?

by AHmad_SalalHello all,
I have a Lenovo Thinkstation P500 that is stuck at post with no display, it happened after I changed the memory timings in bios. I can not clear CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard, also tried re-flashing bios suing a USB stick but it also doesn't work. The only solution that I can think of right now is re-flashing the bios chip using an external programmer but the problem is that I don't have the bios dump of p500 for flashing externally and I don't know the location of bios chip. If someone can provide the bios dump and bios chip location it would be really helpful....-

by Habble7The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

by JoluvillasHi all! I was reading on tutorials how to flash a bios to remove password from a bios, and I ended up reading the EC chip instead of the main bios chip, it only gave me a .bin file of 1,024kb, I learned later that that is the EC chip not the main bios chip (I should have read the tutorials here instead before attempting anything, my bad), I went to flash the original backup, the 1,024kb size file into the same chip and laptop is not powering up anymore. I may have screwed the chip or even the motherboard (Hopefully not), I am trying to see if there is a fix before I discard it. I had a couple...

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this. This is my first post on this forum.
A friend helped me get a prototype Lenovo motherboard from China, it's got a hole drilled in it but I'm working on trying to revive it to some degree. I dumped the bios in hopes that it might be useful to someone, since this board is configured with the 3rd NVMe SSD slot and maybe it is useful as a reference for modding another bios to support this function. For example the M90q Gen 2 / P350's unpopulated 3rd NVMe slot footprint maybe.
This bios dump is straight from the chip, nothing has been...-

by mrkmpnLenovo X1 Carbon 7th Gen Type 20R1

I have made two dumps of this bios, with the bios chip removed from the board and the hashes match on both dumps, but I cannot find the DMI information in the dumps except for the Windows product key, so I think it is corrupted. I have downloaded two bios updates from the Lenovo support site, but they contain small .PAT file, and 4 subfolders containing .FL1 and .FL2 files, which I don't understand enough to figure out how to use to fix my dump.
The problem with the laptop is that...-
