Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password
Do you have a backup of the MEC1663 of a T14? There's a way to post it here. Unfortunately, I don't have easy access to Vertyanov, all I found are fakes, and to import an original is very expensive. I'm in a corrupt country that charges high taxes on imports.Comment

Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password
I don't know how your programmer works since I never had one. I can assume that the chip has a jitag lock, that is, you need to first erase the chip, and then upload the firmware there and then restore it with a prom dmi utility.
The firmware you need can be taken from the BIOS update by first deleting the bytes at the beginning of the file.Comment

Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password
A new version of the Vertyanov program has been released where, at the request of users, the interface for working with MEC chips has been simplified
You can download it from this link:

Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password
I know that, the problem that is not backing up correctly, the file is empty! That is, there is no point in empty backup to insert back into the machine, so I asked the question above.Comment

Re: ThinkPad T14 Supervisor password
After a lot of persistence I was able to remove the bios password from T14! I believe that few here know how to do it and no one shares it, I understand that certain types of information are not shared and are sold! But I persistently come to inform you that the (Thinkpad T14 1st 20S1) was unlocked by an RT809H the only programmer I have. Here are photos in the attachment, now all that remains is to reverse the bios information, but I had taken a photo first of all.Comment

by kitorHey,
I just revived this motherboard (fixed no POST, thanks to a BIOS from this thread)
Now there's a supervisor password required on power on. It is stored likely in EC, which is Nuvoton NPCE68BPA0DX (sometimes misspelled as NPCE688).
I've seen some success on reading this chip in thread for Intel version of this laptop here.
I have access to RT809H programmer. Is there any chance of programming this EC with it? If not I guess I need to find someone with vertyanov?
Or maybe there's a way to bypass just power-on requirement by modifying...-

by baaligogaGood day, everyone!
I'm encountering an issue with my Lenovo X1 Yoga 5th Gen laptop related to the BIOS supervisor password. I'm seeking assistance and guidance from the knowledgeable members of this community in resolving this problem.
I am no expert and cannot perform soldering or unsoldering of the chip from the board. Therefore, I attempted to use an EZP 2023 programmer with a clip to extract the BIOS bin file without removing the BIOS chip from the motherboard. The BIOS chip has the following letters imprinted on it: "Winbond 25Q80DVNIG 2026". I used the...-

by PascosHi all,
I bought a few Lenovo laptops from a batch, most of them having a 10th/11th gen Intel CPU, and I found out they all have a supervisor password enabled. I understand you would need soldering or a programmer to disable the supervisor password on these newer units, which I would like to prevent if at all possible. I have the suspicion that all the laptops are using the same password, though.
In the batch there is also an earlier T550. Is there a method available to retrieve the supervisor password from this model so it can be tested with the others?-
