Hi!
I was surprised to find that this model has two identical 256 chips on the motherboard! I need to unlock the bios password, can someone tell me which chip to read? On the side of the ram or on the back? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I did a dump of my EC chip and removed Nvram region to remove password. Worked fine, except now I get HP endpoint error every boot. I had this same issue with another laptop model, and someone was able to use my main BIOS dump and edit it so it goes into manufacturer mode, so I can re-enter the DMI information and it worked! So if hoaca388 could do it again, or anyone else, I would very appreciate itAttached FilesComment

You must post the laptop/PC serial number, SNID or service tag with every bios request - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...before-posting

Hi, I know this is off topic. I'm one of the victims of HP's latest faulty BIOS update, which left my laptop dead.
The laptop is no longer responding; it only runs at full speed with the fans on, there's no screen, and only the backlight is on and there are Shift codes indicating BIOS problems.
After reading the forum, I'm not sure which boot controller I should reprogram and which programmer to use to restore it. Do you have any ideas? Thanks.(I'm relatively new sorry)

Hello,
HP Elitebook 845 G7
ProdID 2M5C3ES#ACB
SN 5CG0512PP5
mb LINDEN-6050A3147201-MB-A01
After replacing type c controller, there is no initialization. Presumably the BIOS has crashed, the laptop turns on, all voltages appear, the caps lock does not blink quickly 5 times and the fan speed starts to increase, there is no initialization. Help me clean my BIOS, I am attaching my dumpsComment

Dear all,
I'm looking for a new BIOS and EC. The notebook doesn't start most probably due to corrupt bios.
Dumps are attached. Seems like they are corrupt.

BDM: E0-D4-E8-68-D2-FF
I would be very interested if someone could explain me how I can easily enter these values in. I can find them back with UEFITool, but I don't see how to edit them easily. I don't seem to find them back with HxD.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers!

by STKR123Greetings badcaps community,
I havent done this for a long time and want to start it all again, after some evil and annyoing illness.
So I apologize in advance, if some phrases might sound a bit like gibberish or illogical to you.
Im trying my best to fully describe what I plan to achieve and hope I was choosing the right sub-forum for my new adventure.
I have a Elitebook 820 G1 and a Elitebook 840 G2 here.
These ask for a password when entering the BIOS, but boot just fine from the internal SSD.

by what_1282105Following this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad/co...g_and_flashing) i re-flashed my t480s BIOS using an external (CH341A) programmer. The flash didnt work, so i reverted back to my BIOS backup successfully. The BIOS in the chip and the BIOS backup file are identical according to windows' file compare. The revert, however, didnt work: the only thing the computer does is flash the power button 3 times when AC power is connected. I've tried unplugging the CMOS battery, holding the reset button and holding down the power button- no signs of life....

by BloodhoundjeHi everyone,
I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.
I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.
After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.
I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...-
