Original problem was slow start and 5 slow flashes of caps lock. Resetting to defaults resulted in not being able to get back to BIOS screens, requiring a reflash of the chip.
I loaded EC and BIOS from a donor board, updated BIOS via network. System was working (did not brick after loading defaults) but still had slow start. Identified ME as likely culprit in slow boot and 5 flash symptom.
I loaded bios file into Intel FIT (version 14.06) and changed Intel ME Binary File parameter to point to the ME RGN file and built a new image. I then burned that outimage.bin file back. 5 flashes is gone, but so is the disk controller. I've done all resets and it will not show up. I don't see where what I did is really any different than the process outlined in the ME Firmware Cleaning Guide, except for the Create Intermediate Files option. So, not sure what happened here. Any possibility of recovery?
I'd like to know what I did wrong here, rather than just upload files and have someone fix it. I can of course upload any files required for analysis.
Appreciate any assistance. Assuming I can get this resolved, I will still be left with a 'HP Endpoint Security Controller Problem', but one thing at a time. Thanks in advance.

I've cleaned my ME as described and I am wondering if I did it right.
Before cleaning: ME Analyzer shows Chipset as SPT-H D
After cleaning KBP/BSF/GCF-H A SPT-H D
Is that an expected output or did I screw something up?
TLDR:
Replaced HP ZBook 17 G3 motherboard (new), added SN/Model/Board/Build/Featurebyte, locked MPM and ended up with "Warning...not in commited state". I believe I forgot to make some ME settings.
Upgraded BIOS and ME firmware to latest version. Then I dumped the BIOS with a programmer and cleaned ME using firmware ME_11.8_Corporate_D0_H_Production.bin. Warning message is gone, laptop runs fine. How do I check if everything REALLY is fine?! 😅

by SMDFleaIf you have to clean the ME firmware on **some microsoft surface models the touchscreen can stop working.
** Some models do not need this fix.
*You should install the latest updates from microsoft, including the driver packs before assuming there is a hardware problem.* - See Post #2
EDIT: If nothing else works try this fix - https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...8&postcount=40
Always check a working dump from the same model using FIT.If the working dump default setting for "Integrated Sensor Hub Supported" is set to "NO"...-

by gurj1979Hi guys.
I've got a Ubiquiti US-8-150W POE switch which has issues with updating the firmware.
Turned out to be a bad EEPROM chip. It would read the firmware and work as normal, but failed to write new firmware to it.
So I took off the chip and read on EEPROM and saved it. Wrote to old chip and failed to write
Got New chip and writes good.
THE PROBLEM...
It fails to fully load the firmware, POE lights fail to work during g firmware test during load. I'm suspecting bad EEPROM Read.
Does anyone have a Good Firmware I can have?...-

by sikocanHello,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share a recent experience I had with a laptop that had a Type-C Port issue, specifically related to a PD (Power Delivery) controller problem. After replacing the damaged PD controller chip with a new one I purchased from AliExpress, the laptop now charges properly and negotiates power as expected, allowing the device to power up. I've replaced this chip twice just in case.
However, it seems that the laptop's BIOS is detecting an older version of the PD Firmware on the newly installed chip. As a result, it attempts... - Loading...
