I managed to solve bios password on Yoga x1 type 20LD 3rd. I installed a newer version of python. But with Yoga x1 3rd gen type 20qf i didn't. It's a 32mb bios chip and the patched dump didn't work. Continuously beep beep ...

                        ....again:

my patched bios file has a verify error:

                        Current programmer: CH341
                        21:09:03
                        Verify memory...
                        Verification error on address: 00800064
                        Execution time: 00:01:06.078

                        I am using ashprogrammer 2.10.13.

My U49 chip is a "Winbond chip" labeled 25Q128JBS0" (T901).

I think I made a big mistake. I had put the clip on the chip, then it showed me two chips:
                        W25Q128BV (Winbond)
                        W25Q128FV (Winbond)

I then used the first one and created an original bios backup.

I patched it up and wrote it down on the chip.

After flashing there was the following information:

                        Current programmer: CH341
                        Programming memory...
                        Success
                        Execution time: 00:01:29.506

Then I did a verify and the error came.

Then I put the clip on the chip again and there were three chips to choose from:

                        W25Q128BV (Winbond)
                        W25Q128FV (Winbond)
                        and my chip:
                        W25Q128KVxQ (Winbond)

Now I don't have an original BIOS anymore, because I've already flashed the chip.

do I still get an original bios for my chip somewhere, which I can patch?

                        What can I do?

Of course, yes. This file is my original bios (one of 5-7 backuped original bios).

But i have made a mistake at first with wrong IC-type-choose and then without verifying the file. I have verified only the final patched file - With error. But this verifying was done after the patched file was flashed to the IC. With error too at the ned of process.

I think i have inside in my original bios any errors.

What can i do? Could anybody check my original bios for errors, pls?

But i have made a mistake at first with wrong IC-type-choose and then without verifying the file. I have verified only the final patched file - With error. But this verifying was done after the patched file was flashed to the IC. With error too at the ned of process.

I think i have inside in my original bios any errors.

What can i do? Could anybody check my original bios for errors, pls?
flash your original bios on the chip and see if laptop works.

I have tried but after switching on the Laptop the power button is blinking 3x….then nothing happened.

I tried it with original bios and with the patched file. Same result.

That proves the process of soldering the chip back to the main board or the process of writing data to the chip has a problem.

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                                            Some issues
                                            A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                                            Things I tried

Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                                            Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

                                            Hi everyone,

I have been doing hardware repair as a hobby for some years now and recently decided to learn about repairing laptops as a fun challenge.

I managed to get my hands on a "HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec2523nd" notebook that only shows a white power LED and doesnt respond to anything.

After initial testing I concluded the bios seems to be corrupted since all voltages are normal and there are no shorts. HP has a feature for a bios restore from USB with winkey+B for this model. This did not work.

I have desoldered the bios chip (GigaDevice...
