Slow Start HP 640 G2 Probook - Bios
I understood.
This is the original Bios file that was unlocked with the tool posted here on the forum.
Could someone clean it for me?
Thank you.

I did the test, but it doesn't start.
The LED on the numlock and capslock keys flashes 5 times
Attached is the updated bios that was working.

Re: Slow Start HP 640 G2 Probook - Bios
remove the bios chip from the motherboard before reading or writing..if you use the clip you may have errors..use the chip adapter..search the internet for video tutorials, depending on the programmer you have.

Re: Slow Start HP 640 G2 Probook - Bios
So I saved the new BIOS settings on the original chip.
I tested it with the two versions that you modified and with an older one that I had saved.
The notebook turned on, but the charging time is the same.Comment

Re: Slow Start HP 640 G2 Probook - Bios
I downloaded this bios from the HP website, but it is smaller than normal.
I believe it is only for updating.
How do I add information about my notebook to make it work?

Re: Slow Start HP 640 G2 Probook - Bios
The loading time is the same.
It is stuck in the BIOS loading for 30 seconds and after you start to load the system.
Only a few times did it start quickly with the previous bios, but these were rare cases.Comment

Re: Slow Start HP 640 G2 Probook - Bios
Hello friends.
I did the tests with these BIOS images, but it didn't work, the startup time is the same and ended up disabling some motherboard peripherals.
So I decided to leave the original configuration.
Thank you for your help.Comment

Do you have an original bios backup, the one before you removed the password.Comment

by Habble7The Samsung S49CG934SU monitor does not power on - no LED indicator activity and no response to power button. However, when 21V power is connected, it immediately draws 0.8A of current with no display output. The motherboard processor gets warm, and there is continuous reading activity from the W25Q128BV BIOS chip.
Suspected Cause:
I suspect the BIOS may have been corrupted during a power interruption while updating the firmware. The official website provides firmware updates, but they can only be installed via USB flash drive.

by DynaxSCHi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).
I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...11-17-2023, 10:56 AM -

by ktcar214Hello.
I tried to add a custom secure boot key (for secure booting Linux) to my bios, but after this, my laptop bricked. After adding secure boot key (via PowerShell) and enabling secure boot my laptop turns on, shows HP logo, and after 5 seconds it turns off and on, and it repeats forever.
My goal is to either turn off secure boot or remove my custom key from BIOS dump.
I'll attach my bios dump (version R79_011700) from my bios chip 25b127dsig, my keys (PK/KEK/db), and bios dump from another HP ProBook 445R G6(I found it on this forum. URL: https://www.ba...-

by grimacelordThis laptop is the same laptop I was working on in this thread and I wasn't sure if I should post a new topic or post in that thread because I already solved the issue that thread was discussing and this is a completely different issue although it is dealing with the same laptop. I decided to make a new thread since it's a new issue, but please move if I made a mistake.
