I think DIS GRF has a problem, I removed PLV1 and PLV2 and unsoldered PJW2 (dramrst) to disable dis grf, but no voltage on PLG1. Can anyone tell me this is a good method to convert (M.B: DKL50 LA-E802P Rev: 1.0) to uma

Thank you so much!! Now for the painful part..... reassembling this laptop where for the life of me, I don't understand why the BIOS chip is on the back of it!
I'm still overwhelmed by the support shown by users on this forum - it's honestly greatly appreciated. It's not much, but I've donated what I was able to part with
Thanks again!

Hi everyone,
I have a notebook that is bricked after BIOS update. Windows UI part went fine, after reboot updating windows appeared (write and verify didn't show any error), but after automatic reboot the screen has always been off. External monitor too.
Win+B and Win+V with recovery bios on usb pen failed, nothing ever appears on monitor.
BIOS version that bricked: F.75 Rev.A 17 mag 2024
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp153001-153500/sp153030.exe
Model: HP 15-bs199nl
ProdID: 3QS09EA#ABZ
SN: CND8105C1D
MB: DKL50 LA-E802P Rev: 1.0 2017-06-23
BIOS chip seems to be this:
AH1747
25864CSIG
E82456
I post also a picture, I'm not sure about CSIG or CS1G:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LAb...ew?usp=sharing
Is it a SOIC8 or other? Should I measure its size?
What tool do I need to read/write on it?
It seems that a clamp can be applied. I'm not able to desolder and resolder chips, I'd like to try with clamp and then if it doesn't work I will pay someone who is able to do it.
For BIOS backup:
Original drive is damaged but still accessible. I looked into C:\SWSETUP\SP153030\, but inside I only find an Insydeflash.exe. In temporary locations, nothing that resembles a bios backup.
In UEFI partition I find an HP\BIOS directory, with inside Current - New - Previous.
These have the date of failed flashing. I attach the 8 MB file from Previous folder.Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

BIOS chip model is GD25B64C (bee not eight), cheapest programmer available is CH341A, yes, SOIC8 clip which comes with most CH341 kits will work, but it may take some tries to attach it properly, sometimes those clips don't make a good connectionBIOS chip seems to be this:

Unfortunately that backup is incomplete, it's missing the S/N and the ME region, I assume the "New" folder is empty and the "Current" folder has the broken F.75 version (also without S/N or Win key)For BIOS backup:

Yes, New is empty and I attach "Current".
So it failed also during backup?
Now I begin searching for tools.

Since from your other thread the chip appears to be empty, you can flash the BIOS from post 167, or a clean BIOS (the one you have from "current" folder), post 173 and edit the serial/SKU/build ID/feature byte, etc with HP BCU

How do I point HP BCU actions to bios file? I installed it, but it seems to point at BIOS configuration of machine.
Between switches I don't see any "apply to this bios file".
Or are you suggesting to flash file as is, and then run BCU on the affected machine when it will start?
Better my "current" or the one named "mazloum"?
About my "current", can I check its integrity? The SSD was faulty (could it be the reason of initial fail?)
About "mazloum": will I create any issue to that user, using that windows key? Will activation services detect hardware changes?
If mine is missing, I will search for some new. Don't want to steal someone else's one.Comment

Your "current" 08328.bin that you attached here is binary identical to the one extracted from HP website BIOS update F.75, I already compared it with WinMerge, it's clean, laptop will show "Manufacture Programming Mode is in Unlock mode" at boot
You run BCU on the "affected" laptop itself after booting Windows
Open command prompt as administrator
Edit config.txt, then ill the data I mentioned above for S/N etc, save it andCode:C:\SWSetup\SP143621>BiosConfigUtility64.exe /get:config.txt
* Product name is "HP Laptop 15-bs1xx" (same for all, this is how HP programs it at factory)Code:C:\SWSetup\SP143621>BiosConfigUtility64.exe /set:config.txt
As for the Win key, this may work, provided you can get the registry hives from the OS install on the failed drive
https://github.com/superfly-inc/showkeyplus/releases
What you're looking for is an OEM-DM Win key, you can add it with BCU under MS Digital Marker, it's in hex, like this:
Example, if win key is ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVWXY, use https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/...ii-to-hex.html to convert ASCII to hexCode:010000000000000001000000000000001D000000(the win key converted to hex)
If you can't get the key, it's lost forever... Or grab one from a dead motherboard BIOS as long as it's from Win10/11 (old Win8 keys may not activate anymore), it's up to youCode:MS Digital Marker 010000000000000001000000000000001D00000041424344452D464748494A2D4B4C4D4E4F2D50515253542D5556575859
Don't change "Manufacturing Programming Mode" to *Lock yet, reboot and check all data is correct in BIOS, if everything is correct you can remove the asterisk from *Unlock and add it to *Lock, that message at boot will be gone
About using someone else's BIOS, the one I linked has MPM unlocked to change what you need with BCU, since most of it can be used as a template, and if you can get the OEM-DM key from the old OS install, edit it with hex editor before flashing the BIOS, then change the other values with BCUComment

Some update:
-I looked at the location 210000, there's nothing.
The good new is that I could recover Windows key from the failed disk.
How should I insert the code in config file? On two different lines like you did?
(this doubt since other parameters are "parameter : value")HTML Code:MS Digital Marker 01000000....
-Now I've tried to flash original file (08328.bin) on chip, and I get an error during verification:
I tried to read again the chip, and it extracts a file a bit different.HTML Code:APP Version : 13.06 Model : T48 MFG:2025-07-25 Device : GD25B64C @SOIC8 Pins Detected Passed! Time : 250ms Programming ...Failed
They are identical almost till the end, but then the extracted file has some data added that starts with "-Configuration-".
-I looked at the motherboard to search S/N: I find a sticker with MO: - SPS: - Date Code:, and not all numbers are readable.
Nothing with CT
There is a QR code (too little to be read).
On internal chassis I see
-a QR code on the black sticker (the one with notebook S/N, model etc)
-two other qr codes on a white stick (one "Build ID: 17WW3J3T601#SABZ#C" and one "Feature Byte: 3K3Q6b7B7K7P7WaBapaqasawbhbz Jdpdq".

I used : to not make the post longer, when you run BCU /get:config.txt the parameters are all in a new line, and after a TabSome update:

(this doubt since other parameters are "parameter : value")HTML Code:MS Digital Marker 01000000....
You have to grab the config.txt first as a template from the working laptop (after flashing BIOS and booting Windows), then edit it
Example from the laptop I'm posting from, after "Feature byte" on the next line there should be a Tab inserted (forum converted Tab to 5 spaces), paste the values I gave you after the Tab, make sure you don't have extra characters at the end of each line (no spaces or Tabs)
* MS Digital Marker may show as FFFFFFFFF......, replace it with 0100000000....Code:BIOSConfig 1.0 ; ; Originally created by BIOS Configuration Utility ; Version: 4.0.32.1 ; Date="2025/10/29" Time="20:19:36" UTC="19" ; ; Found 37 settings ; Feature Byte 3K6b7K7P7WaBapaqarawbCbhcbd8dUdpdqfPksm9.gT Build ID 19WW7AHT601#SUUF#DUUF Serial Number 5CG****** Product Name HP Laptop 14s-dk0xxx .... ..... MS Digital Marker 010000000000000001000000000000001D000000(win key in hex)
Only after everything is entered correctly, reboot, check again in BIOS setup, and BCU /get:config2.txt you can lock MPM
After locking MPM, you can't change those values anymore, unless you start over with a clean BIOS (MPM unlocked)Code:Manufacturing Programming Mode *Lock Unlock
That -Configuration- thing is done by the T48 software, see the sticky https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ckup-file-size , it can be trimmed-Now I've tried to flash original file (08328.bin) on chip, and I get an error during verification:

They are identical almost till the end, but then the extracted file has some data added that starts with "-Configuration-".
What matters is that the BIOS contents are OK, about the STATUS reg error, should be fine, 0x3A just means LB3, LB2 and LB1 bits are = 1; that means the STATUS registers are read-only and can't be changed; what's important is that QE bit is set to 1
CT Not really important, but use this if you can't find it: PGYEQB21VA2B67 ; should be on a long barcode sticker, unless it got damaged/removed, or just not placed (instead you have the sticker with SPS and MO)
Some boards from a Google image search don't have that sticker like in the picture..., I grab the CT: from that picture
Build ID and Feature Byte I grabbed from HP Partsurfer website, enter S/N and you get that data https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=CND8105C1D , for Feature byte remove the spaces and join the 2 lines, and Build ID is after "BID="
Should match what you have in the inside of the back cover, the values I gave you should workLast edited by m1ch43lzm; 12-07-2025, 07:45 PM.Comment

I will remember for the future :-)
The inside of back cover? I forgot to look there, I will do it. My stickers were on the internal chassis (the metal layer below the motherboard).CT Not really important, but use this if you can't find it: PGYEQB21VA2B67 ; should be on a long barcode sticker, unless it got damaged/removed, or just not placed (instead you have the sticker with SPS and MO)

What could be the reason of mismatch between partsurfer data and stickers' one?
That stickers are about something other? (like the internal chassis itself)
When you say that partsurfer's data "should work", what do you mean? How do I see if they don't work? BCU complains about it?
Before leaving home, I noticed a thing. Nothing to share with what we are talking about, but: the CR2032 socket is broken. I see that it has a low profile, under 4 mm. Just like in other notebooks, while in desktops it's much thicker. There is some standard for these measures?
Just to search... or I will search for a dead notebook.

by macabookHello everyone,
I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:

I am requesting urgent assistance to unbrick my laptop, a rebranded TongFang GK7MRFR chassis. The laptop is completely dead following a faulty in-OS EC flash attempt.
I have successfully used a CH341A programmer and can read/write/verify both flash chips, but using my backups/extractions has failed to restore power. The root cause is likely a corrupted Intel Management Engine (ME) region or an incompatible EC/BIOS pairing. System & Hardware Details- Barebone / Chassis: TongFang GK7MRFR

by piratiHello everyone,
I recently bought a non-working Asus Zenbook Pro Duo OLED UX8402ZA that was listed for parts only. The seller mentioned that it had no display output but that the charging lights worked.
When the laptop arrived (without a charger and SSD), I connected a charger and confirmed with a multimeter that it was charging the battery. However, when I tried to power it on, only the backlight of the secondary display came on. There was no image, and it didn’t boot into the BIOS.
I decided to try flashing a new BIOS, but since I didn’t want to desolder...-
