Re: [TUTORIAL] fix asus bios winh bios from asus web support

Thank you very much for sharing. Can I use this guide for other brand like Acer, etc? Most likely in updating the damage bios with the one from support site.

here is quick tutoril working on most of asus boards with intel cpu

    tools:
    1. uefi tool
    2. original non working dump
    3. update file from asus site
    4. little comon sense

first, uefi bios contains from few things but oll you need to know is this

name files as i do not to get confused, later on when you do this few times you can do how ever you like

    1. first take look at bios:

    2. extract main part of bios and save as BIOS_region.rgn

    3. extract main from web update and save as UEFI_image.rom

    4. replace in bios we try to fix.bin a part from web update we extracted before this UEFI_image.rom

    and save file

note that in order for this to work main part called BIOS_region.rgn and extracted from web update called UEFI_image.rom needs to be SAME SIZE!!!! or it will not work

this method sometimes looses bios key only cos update bios does not contain cers and keys for that
i dont say its working for all boards, but it worked for me for many many times
i take no resposibility if it does not work for you or if something explodes
i dont own or crate this tools and bios, thos credits goes to autors of tools

    hope it helps someone
i only wish thios could somehow remain on badcaps only but since tools are opensource...
good luck and start fixing now
pls wote if you find this usefull

Asus ROG Ally X -RC72LA - changed hidden bios settings with 'Smokeless-UMAF', won't get past boot logo

ASUS ROG Ally X - (Handheld Gaming PC)
    Model No: RC72LA
    Serial No: SBNVKD001014459

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

Asus X541UV Windows update KB5063060 deleting BootOrder EFI environment variable? bios fix
    by davidebeatrici
I had 3 people contact me in a week because Windows suddenly didn't boot:

As you can see, all 3 are ASUS computers, but I believe the common factor is the BIOS being American Megatrends (AMIBIOS/APTIO).

The first two recovered just fine after a restart, but the third one didn't and was brought to me. The model is F541UV (X541UV).
Setup allows to add a boot option manually and the operating system boots just fine from both bootx64.efi and bootmgr.efi. However, there is no way whatsoever to save the option(s): upon a reboot the machine goes straight...

Dell 9010 MT BIOS Update Always Fails
    by mikeybass
Hi, I hope some one has some advice for me. I searched the forums but didn't see anything relevant. I acquired two identical Dell 9010 Mid Tower computers from a business office upgrade (they were going to throw them out). Both of them have the same motherboard (00F82W). One of them works flawlessly. The other one had a corrupted BIOS. I tried flashing numerous main BIOS and EC files from the internet, but none of them worked. I decided to copy the main BIOS and EC from the working 9010 computer and successfully flashed the corrupted BIOS. This got the computer able to boot again and run norm...

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)
    by akwky
    Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...
