Does it lead to the same result (I mean hashes of unlocked files) as the tool you used?
OK. I patched your dump with the script and it gives the following sha256 hash:
Code:$ sha256sum N25Q128A-markv81-unlocked.bin a0f484d9bda83ae5578d6a0f8295edb5bd5457ae4629acbca003034f9059b319 N25Q128A-markv81-unlocked.binā

Hello,
Can someone remove the password from my dump of a HP Elitebook 840 G1? I tried with RCUnlocker but I get a message saying there is nothing to unlock. Thanks!

Can you try this script (it's safe and very simple)?

With the help of this forum, I was able to restore an old HP Elitebook 840 G1 to life.
What puzzles me a bit is that I did not need to enter all data into the bios-config utility to achive that.
On the initial power-up after replacing the bios chips some scary warning appeared that this was attempt 1 of 10 (max?) and some data was missing or invalid.
However, after a while the message disappeared and this message was displayed:
EC MPM and System MPM Mismatch
System needs to restore system information
... will take a few minutes...
so after this the system boots up normally; I can boot an old win7 installation and proceed to
the HP bios configuration utility.
I did not have all the necessary information so I tried some settings (e.g. SKU, S/N, BUILID, FEATURE BYTE) I found here, but none of this was accepted.
So I pretty much gave up and noticed that after several reboots and power cycles the system behaves normal.
There is a S/N an SKU, but no Feature Byte or Build ID in the System information screen.
I booted several linux distris (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint) and they work without hickups.
So what is the story here?
Is this system fixed or will I have an unpleasant surprise in the future?
I can access all items in the BIOS menu and see no complaints about inconsistent settings.
And the password (the original reason for the change) is gone as well.
Can anybody shine some light on this?Comment

by DynaxSCHi, I have an MSI PRO B660M-G DDR4 board with damaged BIOS and i need a bios dump from a real board, along with MAC, UUID and Serial Number info (eg. a BIOS screenshot and pictures from the board stickers).
I need to reconstruct the bios on my board, based on another bios image form a real board - meaning a bios image containing MAC address, UUID and Serial number. A stock BIOS is not suffiecient, as it is impossible to discover where the MAC, UUID and SerialNumber are stored. Tried with a similar board, but there are too much differences, and the stock BIOS is missing a lot of...11-17-2023, 10:56 AM -
by grimacelordThis laptop is the same laptop I was working on in this thread and I wasn't sure if I should post a new topic or post in that thread because I already solved the issue that thread was discussing and this is a completely different issue although it is dealing with the same laptop. I decided to make a new thread since it's a new issue, but please move if I made a mistake.

by DynaxSCHi,
I need a BIOS dump for MSI Z590 PRO WIFI from a real physical board, along with MAC address and serial no.
It must be a dump from a physical board, as it contains personalized data eg. MAC Address, UUID, Serial no.
I have a board which has lost the BIOS contents, I have the MAC and serial to this board, and need to insert it into the another BIOS image. To do it, I need to have a real image from a real board, as the images from the MSI site are without this data. The only way to find where MAC/UUID/Serial is located in the BIOS is to have a bios...-

by vinaypundithI have this laptop that does boot but it's on an older BIOS that has issues with Secure Boot, and I cannot use the normal Razer BIOS updater because for some reason the serial number is missing / got deleted somehow (Common issue on this model, from what I've read). I got a dump of the BIOS chip (or at least what I think is the BIOS chip), and its 16MB in size - the files from the Razer BIOS update are 8MB. (There's two 8MB files, am I supposed to combine these somehow? Or combine with an Intel ME firmware? I have no idea).
So, I'm looking for a BIOS dump for this machine - a 16MB one....-

by hyperwoodHi everyone,
Iām looking for a 2 MB BIOS dump for a Lenovo IdeaPad 5 16ARH7H / Legion 5 with mainboard NM-E471 Rev. 2.0.
The BIOS chip is a Winbond W25Q16FW (1.8V, 2MB) and it's completely unresponsive / bricked. I tried recovery via USB but no success. Now I want to reflash it externally using a CH341A programmer.
I already found 32MB dumps (e.g. from Vinafix and Badcaps), but they are too large for the chip ā and the last 2MB in those files are just FF FF FF....
ā What I need:- A working 2MB BIOS dump
- Matching NM-E471 Rev. 2.0, e.g. JY575
