this method worked for me. but i did something hes not mentioned.

          01.remove the RTC battery
02.plugged in Ac adapter and power on
03.Short those small rectangle pads for single time
          04. turn off
          05. then re-assemble everything with new RTC battery and its working without that annoying password.

            hello kandyan
I see two pairs of rectangle pads, what pair are you talking about
the pair pointing up and down or the pair pointing left to right

Hello! I can confirm the procedure kandyan suggested. It is a little tricky but with a little time I was able to completely clear the password. I pulled the board out, pulled the bios battery out, plugged it in, clicked the power button, shorted the tiny pads on the board with a flat-head screwdriver once and then turned off the power. Put everything back together, and easily went into BIOS setup.

Thank you for the procedure! It saved my computer.

                              Hi guys,

Might be unrelated and needing a new topic but here it goes:

I have a modded N5110 at home with unlocked UEFI settings.

Touched some of them, now black screen upon booting.

I am looking for a procedure how to reset the CMOS completely?

Assuming shorting the PW pins wont do it in my case...

                              Thanks for the potential help

Re: Reset Dell N5110 Bios password

I have tried the above procedure, however, it has still not cleared the CMOS completely. I used an online service to retrieve the master admin password for this laptop, however it then asks for the HDD password. Any additional assistance would be appreciated.

Don't want to trash a perfectly good laptop...

                                  Thanks

HDD password is on HDD itself. Replace HDD.
