    2022 Zephyrus G14 GA402RK BIOS + IC

I have a G14 GA402RK that I (stupidly) changed the wrong settings on and now does not post. I changed the SOC power and the Above 4G MIMO limit.

The device fans will ramp up and down as the temp rises, and the keyboard lights up, but the nothing else happens. It also powers up when plugged into the AC power but not USB or battery power. All of this makes me think it still works, I just need to slap a new BIOS on it.

I tried identifying the IC with a CH341A programmer, but I could only find the GPU BIOS. I also read somewhere on this forum that Asus has used multi-IC BIOS solutions in the past, which makes this more fun for a newbie like me.

Attached are pictures of the board, and the code behind the RAM slots which I think identifies the motherboard. If anyone can help me identify the BIOS IC and how to burn the new image on it if it's not a standard 8 pin IC, I would be very appreciative. Any and all help would be appreciated actually.

there are 3 eeproms on your board, I think one from the left is Bios chipset - the middle is VBios and on the right is TBT. Take a clear photo of the code on chipset.

The one on the left is 24512A P21A02 and the one on the right is 24512A P21A03. Middle one is GD PJ2133, and is the one I got the gpu info from.

yep, not bios chipset any of them. Maybe is on back of the motherboard, I will search on net.
Edit: can't get a clear image but i think that's the one

Yep, that's it. Winbond 74m25jweiq. I don't think the alligator clips will be able to grab this and I don't think I have the skill to desolder it. Is there any advice or a different method of reading/writing that you can recommend?

nope, just remove it and read with adapter. Attention, is 1,8V chipset. See if you have some jumpers around ram slots to reset it, if you say you only changed something in settings.

There are no jumpers on the motherboard, which is why I was looking to rewrite the BIOS. Removing the battery for an extended period did not help either. It would be nice if there were contacts on the board I could short to clear CMOS, but I don't see any and don't know enough to start poking around without guidance.

sorry, I don't have clear images of your motherboard to start looking for reset pads.
Remove CMOS battery and hold power button for 30s to drain all current left in capacitors, maybe it will reset bios.

Unfortunately there's no cmos battery. I've tried removing the battery and letting it sit overnight, and that did not work. Here is a picture of the back side if that will help.

Hi there. Please note that you are missing RTQ5132GQWF (chip marked as 0H=). It is an integrated power management IC suitable for general DDR5 SODIMM and UDIMM applications. I hope this helps.

I know I'm reviving a zombie topic, but did you ever get your bios working again? I bought a GA402RK online that's exhibiting the same symptoms. When attempting to power on, the HDD blinks once then waits about 5-8 seconds, then blinks again and just loops like this. It doesn't matter if it's plugged in to wall power or running off of battery. I tried disconnecting all peripherals and the SSD to see if it acts differently but it doesn't. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

post S/N, full name and model, motherboard model, ,etc.

post the contents of the bios chip even if it is corrupted..

Post a picture of the QR code near the ram slot, or scan it yourself and post what it says.

I checked voltages and have 20v on the main rail where I should. I checked for shorts and couldn't find any with a thermal camera and with a multimeter. I've tried swapping hardware out. Doesn't matter if it's powered by battery, charger, or thunderbolt. I've tried holding the power button for 30-60 seconds to reset the EC. No matter what I try, the laptop will only flash the HDD status light every 7-10 seconds. Fans never spin up and no keyboard or display backlights come on. My NVME drive has an LED status light that DOES come on during boot but goes out when the laptop starts it's boot cycle all over again. It's acting like it's attempting to boot and gets to a certain point in the process before resetting again. I'm hoping it just needs a new BIOS at this point. I can measure 20v going all the way to the mosfets right before the CPU and GPU but nothing is coming out of them. Thank you in advance for any and all help. I'm really banging my head trying to fix this laptop.

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

                                🛠️ MSI GP75 Leopard MS-17E71 – No Display, Deep BIOS/EC Troubleshooting
                                by macabook
                                Hello everyone,

I’m currently working on a dead MSI GP75 Leopard (MS-17E71) motherboard (i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU) with a no display/no backlight issue initially. After extensive investigation, I’m at a critical stage involving EC firmware, BIOS/ME region interaction, and possible deep corruption. I'm seeking advanced insight from anyone with experience in EC/BIOS sync issues or PCH-level behavior. Here’s a full breakdown:
                                🧩 Initial Issue
                                • Board powers on (fans spin, keyboard lights up and can be adjusted, caps lock led lights), but no display or backlight
                                • External display (HDMI) shows
                                ...

                                1. I bought this laptop from flea market, and the seller said that he had never set a password, however here is a password required when pressing F2 to enter BIOS.
                                2. And after entering incorrrect password 3 times, there is no any useful information like "recovery code"
                                3. I used universal bios backup tool, and dumped 8MB bin file, but hex code after "SystemSupervisorPw" is...

My laptop which is the same as the one you mentioned;ga402rk-5w,SN:N8NRKD002088342. has stopped working for no reason and after troubleshooting the hardware i came to the conclusion that the problem is in the bios i think i have a corrupted bios the laptop turns on but it doesn't boot or get to the bios even. I need a complete bios image to flash into the bios chip and hope for the best that it turns on. I didn't have an idea this could actually happen that's why i didn't take any back up of my bios when i first...
