  • Re: 2022 Zephyrus G14 GA402RK BIOS + IC

Unfortunately there's no cmos battery. I've tried removing the battery and letting it sit overnight, and that did not work. Here is a picture of the back side if that will help....

There are no jumpers on the motherboard, which is why I was looking to rewrite the BIOS. Removing the battery for an extended period did not help either. It would be nice if there were contacts on the board I could short to clear CMOS, but I don't see any and don't know enough to start poking around without guidance....

I have a G14 GA402RK that I (stupidly) changed the wrong settings on and now does not post. I changed the SOC power and the Above 4G MIMO limit.

The device fans will ramp up and down as the temp rises, and the keyboard lights up, but the nothing else happens. It also powers up when plugged into the AC power but not USB or battery power. All of this makes me think it still works, I just need to slap a new BIOS on it.

I tried identifying the IC with a CH341A programmer, but I could only find the GPU BIOS. I also read somewhere on this forum that Asus has used multi-IC...

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Hey everyone, greetings from California USA. Like most others, I ran into this forum trying to Google a solution to my broken device. I'm amazed that a forum like this still exists in 2023, and I hope it keeps going even longer. Looking forward to helping and finding info in the forums!
