    Help with Lenovo P52_20MA BIOS

I've been refurbishing some P52 laptops and performed a BIOS update to which after it was completed, somehow created a POST loop (system configuration change Rebooting). Can't get into BIOS Settings or boot menu. It allows me to select them but just reboots.

I have backed up the BIOS image, and tried some clean ME bios files from here hoping I would get some life back into it. No luck.

I've tried to compare files with HEX editors and yeah it sees many differences but not sure what I am looking for.

Can some wizard help here? If you can fix one file and if it works, maybe I can find what they did to get it going.

I even tried to use the clean ME guide, but Win-RAID site is not working for me right now. However, not even sure it is an ME issue.

If someone can help, that would be awesome! If needed the complete model # and Serial

    20MA-S25B1L PF-1L1S8V

Oh yeah, I need to donate to contribute to the forum.

      Hardware1, you are a wizard!!!

I'm assuming this BIOS you shared was just a clean ME version you had archived without repairing the file I had? Just trying to learn, not just expect someone else to always fix it for me.

If so, it worked that's all that matters. However, I was just curious to know what the hell happened to the original BIOS during the update and what was damaged.

Either way, thank you very much.

Good to know that, You're Welcome.

No, I have repaired your dump file by replacing the BIOS Region with the one with is provided by Lenovo, inserted your Windows key from the dump file then cleaning the ME Region.

Good to know. The ME region would make sense as I tried the file on another unit that was exact as the first one and it worked on it as well. Feel better for not having to ask for help on the other two units. Replacing the BIOS region is a little higher expertise I don't have yet not to mention the proper software.

However, now that you mentioned what you did, I guess the windows key will carry to the other laptop too, both activated so it wont matter.

Funny thing is both laptops in BIOS report the same internal MAC address which I thought was hardware level and cannot be changed. Strange and learn something new everyday. At least the UUID was different between the two. Both are connected to the same network and no conflicts.

That should still be under warranty.
Get Lenovo to fix it. BIOS is not supposed to get corrupt merely by shutting down while it's booting an OS. (if it was performing a BIOS update that's something else though)

sorry, usually invalidating AbtState from VSS Store do the trick but I couldn't find it in your bios. however, I did find company name (ram**ll) in MFS area from ME and thought cleaning ME will solve the problem. You can use Lenovo DXE Patcher maybe will allow you to disable Absolute. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=87588

I know this is a 32Mb file, but I believe you can still use Autopatcher to remove the password. From my experience, it also wipes the computrace as well. So if you add a password to your P52 (one you remember) and pull the BIOS image again, then run autopatcher to remove the password and computrace at the same time. You cannot run autopatcher without a supervisor password which is why I mention to add a password before proceeding.

Summary of BIOS Whitelist Removal Problem

                                        Problem:
I am attempting to remove the WWAN card whitelist from my Lenovo ThinkPad T560.
                                        Initial Findings:
                                        • My current BIOS version is N1KET58W (1.45).
                                        • I have a CH341A programmer and have successfully created two full backups of my BIOS.
                                        • I have the ability to use command-line tools on a Linux machine.
                                        Troubleshooting Steps & Conclusions:
                                        • I attempted to use several automated and manual patching methods on my N1KET58W (1.45) BIOS, including using hex strings. These attempts all failed.

                                        Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

Lenovo Legion Y540 – Need help repairing BIOS after bad downgrade
                                        by gestalt.exe
                                        Hi everyone,

My Lenovo Legion Y540 (i7-9750H, RTX 2060) bricked after I downgraded from BHCN44WW to BHCN21WW.
                                        Laptop stopped booting entirely.

I used a CH341A programmer to dump the corrupted 16MB BIOS.
                                        i then attempted the following:
                                        1. Downloaded stock BIOS BHCN39WW from Lenovo
                                        2. Trimmed it to 16MB
                                        3. Extracted the BIOS region from the corrupted dump
                                        4. Extracted the BIOS region from the stock 39WW
                                        5. Replaced the corrupted BIOS region with the stock one (within hxd , opened the corrupted dump and replaced its region by the stock)
                                        6. Injected back my LDGB / DMI
                                        ...

I am working on a Lenovo Legion T5-26AMR5 desktop that currently has a corrupt BIOS and I have been unsuccessful thus far in trying to fix it myself.

                                        History:

                                        1. This computer came to me initially with an error message that said "BiInitializeLibrary failed 0xc0000001" or "0135 fan error". It would always be one of the two errors. It should be noted that when it produced the fan error, there was no physical problem with the fans. They were all spinning just fine.

I searched for this error online and discovered...

                                        Hello everyone,

I am attempting a repair on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 11e that is currently stuck at boot with the error: "0275 error CMS" even after setup new bios battery and will not allow me to enter the BIOS/Setup.

This is a critical issue that I believe requires flashing the BIOS chip directly using a programmer (e.g., CH341A/RT809H), as standard software updates or resets are not possible.

I have opened the laptop and identified the main BIOS chip...
