    Good.

    Resistance to GND on L6995 (PP3V42_G3H_REG) ?

Pin 2 on L6995 is someting about 135kohms, L6995 is still removed from the board.

That is a much better resistance than before. If the other side of L6995 is also a high reading, then proceed to solder back L6995 so that it can perform its job.

The voltage output of L6995 should be ~3v42 if all is well on this rail.

The other side is reading O.L,
so should be good i guess.

Both Pins on L6995 are around 125k ohms now that L6995 is soldered back.
Is it safe now to plug in the magsafe connector?

I think it is. Do measure the output of the L6995 and it should be ~3v42 if all is well.

Still reading nothing on L6995 and U6990 isn´t producing PP3V42_G3H.

And U7941 is now shorting again on Pin 1.

                    Confirm the input voltage to U6990, pin # 7 - measure @ D6990, pin # 3 (PPVIN_G3H_P3V42G3H).

Are you using an official magsafe adapter ?

Remove all power, check the resistance to ground of L6995, pin #2. Be sure that L6995 inductor is soldered in properly and mating with the PCB pads.

It reads around 3 ohms again. I guess it fried the U7941 again.

It´s not a official magsafe adapter but it worked with the samelogicboard in the past.

I would buy a Costco lot of U7941 devices from Aliexpress. Do ask if they are valid for macbook repairs but believe this is a fixed function device that should just operate as expected upon soldering. Silego has many programmable devices and you need special tools and IP to configure them otherwise.

Remove all power and check the resistance to ground of the 3 x outputs of this device (pin 4, 3 and 8).

                            What are the readings ?

                                The resistance is ok.

Very strange, yet this part dies.

What are the resistance readings to ground for the input pins 2, 6, 7 ?

Would not be a bad idea to source & replace U6990 (PM6640). If nothing else, you will have spare parts for future repairs.

                                    Remove U7941 off the board.

                                    Does the low resistance disappear @ L6995, pin # 2 ?

If yes, power up (without U7941) and confirm if the voltage @ L6995, pin # 2 = +3v42.

Uhm, now Greenlight is on with 3,4V on Pin 2 of L6995 without U7491 even attached.
And U7200 is getting hot too.

                                            Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

Hello. I would need some advice please.

My son's MBP suddenly stopped working and is now only getting the green-then-orange light on Magsafe and no fan spin.
He brought the MBP into the house (22 deg C) from a very cold conservatory (-3 deg C) and turned it on straight away. The Mac suddenly died a few minutes later.

I examined the logic board and couldn't find any signs of water damage, corrosion, blown up components etc. Nothing was ever spilt on it, and the logic board looks immaculate.

I have already replaced the logic board with another...

HI all, I am working on Apple MacBook A1398 logic board # 820-00138-A. The problem is that it does not turn on & no fan spin. Board is very clean & no sign of liquid spill. Upon checking the initial troubleshooting power rails, I found that its missing 5V (Absolute 0V on the Coil L7720, no pulsing at all, it's just 0V). 3.3V is PERFECT & across all points on the logic board. Checked the IC U7501 pin 4, this pin should have the ENABLE volts to turn on the 5v rail, & P5VS4_EN is missing. This signal generated from U8170 pin 4. PM_SLP_S5_L is also not present & ALL_SYS_PWRGD is...

                                            Dear community,
this is my very first post, I am quite new to macbook repairs, and I am excited:-)

I have a 2011 MacBook Air 13' that does not power on. No fan spin, nothing.

                                            Here are the specs:

                                            MacBook Air Mid-2011
                                            CPU: 1.7 GHz Core i5 (I5-2557M)
                                            Model: A1369 (EMC 2469)
                                            RAM: 4 GB
                                            VRAM: 384 MB

                                            The first question:
Unfortunately, it came with a 'fake' power adapter which seems not to talk to the computer. Sometimes it does show green light immediately after connecting it to the board,...
