What is the 820-xxxx code for your A1707 logic board?
Is it 820-00281-A?

Yeah just ordered that stencil. I think the China order hasn't delivered yet, but I need to do 4 CD3215 stencils for this A1707. Hopefully this solves the issue. If this fixes it, that brings out a board we had laying around and can put it into our inventory.Leave a comment:

Funny - about to order the same d*mn thing - have a bad CD3215 on an A1990 that will not turn on the battery charger.
Ordering a fresh CD3215 batch and the SMD stencil - actually may have it here already but easier to buy a fresh stencil than to dig. Apparently their cutoff for same day shipping is 8 PM - sweet!Leave a comment:

hi. yes, you can source the stencil from MobileSentrix - they have some good stuff. Purchased from them recently:
https://www.mobilesentrix.ca/ic-comp...06-a1707-mac-5
Give them a shot and post your results.
Also, they have a USA as well as a Canadian distribution warehouse so you should be covered.Leave a comment:

Re: MacBook Pro 15" 2017 A1707 Touchbar No power
Tested for G3H. And its present. Then the voltage drops to 0 then starts over at 3.4Volts then drops again. This is obviously the cause of it shutting down. It still is not getting to 20V on the tester. Just stays at 5.20Volts then shuts itself down and starts over.Leave a comment:

Great forum! Love you guys for helping me learn here. Pulled up Schematics.
USB C Tester plugged in. Starts at 5V then the USB C tester shuts off and restarts. No test further. I plugged the USB C Tester into a working logic board (has a bad SSD Corruption) to verify the USB C Tester is working, and it works fine so the logic board we are testing is looping at 5V. Turns on the USB C Tester after 3 seconds it turns it off and on again. Loops. Tested voltage for G3H and it seems the enable switch at U6903 is present. Tried both USB C ports, same result
Any points I should test to determine what I am missing? So far I have learned a lot but small things like this come up and I could use the knowledge for further future repairs and enjoyment!Tags: None

by soflesHello there
I have problem with Macbook Pro 15" 2017, model 2017, MB code 820-00928.
I bought it as broken with some artefacts on the screen, first I thought that this is problem with ribbon cable but after inspectiing ribbon cable I know it is fine. I tried to reinstall macOs and then I figured out that this must be something with GPU as installation freezes at the end (when drivers are loaded). I installed Windows and was able to install every each of drivers except GPU driver, as soon as I tried to install GPU driver - black screen and restart.

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by modtoolHi to all,
the owner of this macbook brought it to me after a fall, that hit the upper right corner of the top case.
Luckily enough, the screen and all other parts of the machine haven't been damaged, only the touch bar wasn't lighting up anymore, and the macbook began to behave strangely, because it seems to start and work fine but suddendly it shutsdown (and at the same time the fans make a high rotation for half a second, as if an animal was annoyed by something...) at random times, sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes after 5 minutes, but never over 10 minutes, then restarts... -
by kurtspiritHello,
I have a Macbook Pro 2017 Touchbar (A1706) that suddenly shut down for no reason.
So I took it apart and started measuring.
The PP3V3_G3H seems problematic. I traced the line to component U6903 and on Pin 10, I measured 1.9V instead of 3.3V.
Unfortunately, my skills stop there and I don't understand where this type of failure can come from.
I saw on videos of repairers that the failure could come from the U7000 component which would be at the origin of the 3.3V but they have absolutely no voltage. I have a 1.9v...

by leonemax81Hi guys I have a Macbook a1707 with motherboard 820-00281, without liquid damage that behaves strangely, with the battery connected the Macbook does not turn on and the USBC meter stops at 5v in loop, when I disconnect the battery the Macbook turns on and works fine, I have already tried to replace the battery twice without success, as soon as I connect the black cable of the battery the Macbook does not turn on, it stops at 5v and in loop.
