    Macbook a1707 2017 model 820-00928 GPU issue

    Hello there

I have problem with Macbook Pro 15" 2017, model 2017, MB code 820-00928.

I bought it as broken with some artefacts on the screen, first I thought that this is problem with ribbon cable but after inspectiing ribbon cable I know it is fine. I tried to reinstall macOs and then I figured out that this must be something with GPU as installation freezes at the end (when drivers are loaded). I installed Windows and was able to install every each of drivers except GPU driver, as soon as I tried to install GPU driver - black screen and restart.

I disassembled macbook and reflowed GPU memory, now macbook turns on but with black screen

My question is there any way to dissable GPU by hardware and use only integrated one? I don't need Radeon as I will use this macbook only for web, excel etc.
    Thanks for any help

    Hello,

I am looking for the boardview file and the matching schematics (PDF) for the following MacBook Pro:
    • Model: A1707
    • 15-inch, Mid 2017
    • 3.1 GHz Core i7
    • 16 GB RAM
    • Radeon Pro 560
    • 1 TB SSD
    • Board number: 820-00928-A
I already searched the forum, but so far I havenโ€™t found a matching boardview for this board. In several posts I came across, it was also mentioned that the uploaded files were often incorrect.

    Thanks in advance!

    Greetings from Germany...

MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 Fan Issue
    by jasonr2000
hi guys I have the following MacBook Pro A1706 13 inch 2017

I have a problem with fan speed I get an error on the right fan but I have replaced both fans and the right fan is still running at full speed

I have tried to use Macs fan control to slow it down but no go.

ive also tried and SMC reset and a PRAM reset and again no change.

while looking over the logic board I have found an issue with a cap down by C6505 C6503 and C6504 ive looked in the board view and I believe that's to do with the PPBUS_G3H

the Mac is running as I said...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue โ€“ Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
    by rounin
    Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck โ€” hoping someone here can shed some light.

    ๐Ÿ›  Original Issue
    The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C โ€” stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

    MacBook Pro A1707 Graphics issue.
    by janoszw
Hi, I'm having a problem with my MacBook Pro A1707.
There are graphics glitches all over the screen.
I took a screenshot, so it's not a screen issue, but either the graphics card or VRAM chips.
Has anyone had this issue before? I don't want to replace unnecessary components.
The system is otherwise quite stable, it's just a visual problem.
    Thanks....

    MacBook Pro 15" 2017 A1707 USB C MAJOR ISSUE
    by Stephen
Device powers on and charges etc. Heres the deal, swapped out the USB C ports because it was not charging, charges now, but now the USB C ports kill my external devices (USB EXTERNAL THUMBDRIVES) . so far it killed three thumbdrives. Again macbook operates normally and charges, but I cannot connect any external devices to the ports until I figure out what is causing this issue. Remember I swapped out multiple USB C ports and they all are causing the same issue, even with . new ones. So if there needs to be a logic board repair can someone point me to the right direction?
