If there is no picture on external monitor, probably the GPU is defective. but you can not be 100% sure.Comment

The GPU is defective, the lap comes from another repair shop who damage the gpu with bad flux and heating...so i try to enable the UMA...that what i ask for hereComment

To convert this mb to UMA-only two steps required.
01 Remove PL802
02 Shift RC99 to RC100(located near PCH part of SOC).

pjp 1300 / pjp 1301 / pjp 600 / pjp 1101 / pjp 1100 open jumper
RC99 moved to RC100.
Flashing bios with different dump from website and dell site.
Always 8 Beeps..any idea

Good news , the conversion works ..but only at external display via HDMI.
without it 8 beeps..maybe the LVDS cable is the issue..i will try with another one to confirm.

Hi,
I have this laptop for a long time, still it does it's job, like browsing, word , excel. Two years back laptop Hinge base broken but now it's damaging other parts of laptop so I tried to totally remove the embedded display cable from laptop and tried to boot only with external display monitor, but it doesn't boot and gives single beeps. BIOS checking the embedded display to be connected.
So checked the schematics to bypass this issue.
Found something but I don't know how to read this schematics.

I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:
Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.
The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type... -
For those that have worked through the 7290 BIOS in the past, do you happen to know if there is a switch in it to enable a touchscreen entry in the BIOS setup?
The 7290, 7390, and 7490 all use the same BIOS, and the 7390 has an FHD touchscreen as one of its' options. It turns out it can be installed in a 7290 BUT since the BIOS doesn't have the entry to turn it on, it just becomes an FHD upgrade to the 7290.
I was hoping if any of you that had worked on the BIOS in the past would know if either the touchscreen settings could be turned on in the 7290, or the BIOS could... -

I got a Dell Latitude 5420 (Service Tag: 7RFM6D3, Motherboard: GDF40 LA-491P Rev.: 2.0 (A01)) which does not start and I want to repair it. These are the symptoms:
