MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2012 Unibody NO AUDIO

So get this, I replaced the Cirrus Chip on this board assuming it failed, and tested all the volts in most of the chip and they all do fine. But I still have no audio, I traced down to other few areas and still no avail. SO basically I am lost, I have the schematic and can't seem to figure out which is the INTERNAL AUDIO components I need to test and replace, I read the chip on the board schematics and I know common sense applies to some ares like AUDIO MIC etc...blah blah blah...My question is what should I look for on this board to find out why the audio is not playing, ALSO I replaced the Headphone jack as well and still have the same issue. Did a reset as well (smc and nvRam) and still no avail. Can someone point me in the right direction?

No audio on speakers or headphones? No chime even after PRAM reset? Does audio device show up in System Preferences? Does it say Digital Out only?

No chime ever, no devices being shown either. Did reset and chime never came back. Swapped out Audio Codec chip with a new one and still no sound. I am lost at this point.

Yeah I did check this area. Its the AUDIO Codec Chip. I replaced it but I guess that wasnt the issue. It def is a short somewhere.

Did you check the SMBus (I2C) connections to the AUDIO ICs?

What happens when you press the volume buttons?

When it does not appear in system preferences, it means that the SMC does not "see" the audio device.

It could be SMBus connections failure or bad audio driver in firmware. Try make a backup of your EFI ROM, then flash a good known EFI Rom from this forum.

                    Other suggestions:
                    Maybe HDA_RST_L is held low?

                    Corrosion under SMC?

Bad connections caused by almost no see corrosions. Had an issue with missing charger detect signal. The trace looked fine, but was broken at the edge of a testpoint.

The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

MacBook Air 2337 - Right I/O Board Audio IC - Alternative Replacement?
                        by grimacelord
                        Hello,

I'm working on a MacBook Air A2337 that had liquid damage on the right I/O board. I ultrasonic cleaned the board and it all functions except the computer has no audio. I tried reballing the audio IC which is TAS5770AC0, but that did not restore audio. I could just replace the entire board, but I wanted to see if replacing the audio IC would fix it first. Mouser has a similar audio IC in stock which is TAS5770LC0YFFR, but I wasn't sure if it is compatible. I was just wondering if anyone knew if I could use the one from mouser as an acceptable replacement or if I need to purchase...

Hello, I am looking for any and all files related to the mainboard for 820-2565-A (13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012) schematics/board view.

I looked through forum search results and google and was unable to find a board view file, I found a pdf of all the schematics but I don't know where the parts physically are on the board as this is my first macbook board level repair attempt.

The macbook charger has a green light, the battery has been replaced and OS reports Normal status but Not charging. After cleaning a corroded capacitor it crumbled off the board. There...

                        Apple MacBook A1707 No Audio/Sound
                        by tommy97
                        Hi,

I'm having an issue with an A1707 MacBook Pro—there's no audio output. Initially, the MacBook came in with a no-power problem, and I found a faulty U6400, which I've now replaced. The laptop now powers on, but there's still no sound.

I've also replaced U6300, but the problem persists.

Here are the current voltage readings:
                        • PPV18_S0: 1.8V
                        • R6402: 1V
                        • R6405: 1V
                        • R6403: 1V
                        • AUD_SPKRAMP_RESET_L: 1.3V
                        • PPBUS: 12.6V

Macbook Pro early 2011 - no audio
                        by mrsith
Hi. Got a Macbook Pro early 2011 model, EMC2419, with no audio. Was hoping for a loose speaker cable or audio jack replacement...
Upon opening I have discovered some liquid damage. The R6211 had obvious corrosion. Replaced it and cleaned the board PCB as much as I could. Still no audio (no output devices, no startup chime, and before Macbook shows apple logo with loading bar, it displays white screen for about 10 seconds). I have noticed solder joints around audio jack a little bit worn/bad, corrected them so they appear neat now.

Anserwing some questions before they're asked:...
