I gave up on this laptop but now I'm determined to get it going again.
When it's plugged in, the white light is stable and the battery charges.
When I press the power button, it switches on then goes off after about 4 seconds and restarts again in a constant loop until I remove all power.
Any help will be appreciated 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻...Leave a comment:

Hi.
If I disconnect the battery cable, it does exactly the same. Unbelievably laggy and full blast fan.
Interestingly I just found this video and believe this could be the solution. Apparently it's a particular quirk of this exact model.

A2179 fast fan and extremely laggy touchpad :'(
I just changed the screen on a Macbook A2179.
On restart, it boots up to the password screen but any movement on the touchpad is extremely laggy and the fan spins up to full speed.
I tried checking all the connectors which are all in place.
New thermal paste on CPU.
Also noticed the battery is not charging either and shows a battery sign in the top right hand corner with an exclamation mark in it.
I have schematic and boardview if anyone can help me with this?
Many thanks. -
MacBook A2179 Audio board+Power button boardview & schematic needed
Hi.
Long shot but does anyone have a schematic & boardview for the audio board+power button on a Macbook A2179?
There is a shorted cap on mine and I need to know if I can safely remove it or whether I need to replace it and with what capacitor.
Many thanks. ... -
I found the problem. Somebody had previously changed the charging port. However on closer inspection and with help from a boardview, the manafacturer of the port had wired it incorrectly. One of the ground wires was wired where a data line should have been and the data line was wired into where the ground should have been. Charging perfectly now- Selected Answer

Lenovo Y50-70 only charges when turned off.
I have a Y50-70 gaming laptop. It has a problem where it charges up fine when the laptop is off, but when it's on, it doesn't.
I've tried a new 135w charger + new Lenovo battery and a new charging port but it made no difference.
I've updated all the drivers and still no difference.
Could it be down to a dodgy chip? I'll see if i can find a schematic and someone on here might be able to direct me where to test
Many thanks in advance.... -

Hi and thanks for that.
The laptop turns on but no post screen (or anything) it then switches off after about 20 seconds and then restarts again in a loop.
After some checks, I assumed it was perhaps a corrupt BIOS but even if it is, I cant reprogramme that kind of chip that you are showing, only the 8 pin type....Leave a comment:

Hi.
Am about to use the patcher software on my Dell 5440. I opened it up to use my CH-341A on the bios chip but noticed it had 2. My CH-341A only has the connector size for 1 of the chips. Which chip in the picture do I use to read and write to?
Many thanks....Leave a comment:
