If the problemstill goes on just check the power supply around the GPU.. or just try to replace the GPU from an old motherboard.. the new ones often cause problems.. fake!

I tried both putting an RTC battery on the board and changing the IO chip. The same happens.
And I don't have another BGA chip to test.

                Is that exactly your motherboard?
What about the reballing process? Was it successful? The description you just told is the sign of a deffective GPU.. (or in your case not very well -reballed)..
It happened to me once when I reflowed the Gpu of a Gateway with AMD sempron processor. At the beginning, I had the display only through the VGA slot, in an external monitor, but not the embedded screen.. After the reflow process, everything stopped.. I have now only some LEDs lit.. no fan, no cpu or gpu start up..
another thing I must tell you about is whether all the small components surrounding the GPu are still there.. During the reflow process, some of them may be blown away. and the motherboard stops forever.. Pay attention my friend!
PS I am sending these pictures ofthe motherboard to check the presence of all the components surrounding the GPU.

                good luck

This is my motherboard. The reballing process is not something I did it for first time. I have been able to fix many laptops via reballing or changing VGA chip.
All the components around GPU are there, nothing missing. And also I'm using IR instead of hot air, so it is more difficult for parts to get blown away.
I'm thinking that the GPU may be defective so I'll have to order another one to check.

Usually reballing doesn't fix permanently the issue. On GPUs, the problem is almost never the balls but rather the chip itself. However heating it up to a sensible temperature can make it work again for a while.

It's 80% the chip.. So try not to order but get one from an old motherboard. New ones are most ofthe time deffective.. They may simply not work.. because they are not made in the OEM factory, but in other counterfeiting factories.. I heard many people complaining about these chip ordered from amazon or ebay or else.. unless you send them an email to urge them to send an original one..
                      good luck

The "new" chips sold on eBay/Aliexpress are old dead reballed ones. They are often polished then remarked to have newer date codes, or even another model number.

macbook A2918, orange light off when shut off
                          by mosfetratus
When i fully shut off mac, orange light goes off and wont react to power button. I have difficult time resetting with combination "shift+control+option and power button", because it rarely works (reason unknown), when i manage to get orange light and then press power button macbook wont turn on and orange light goes off. When i hold combination with power button it turns on, and works fine if put it to sleep mode.

Works with battery and charges, but when i shut off i get this problem.

It had liquid spill. Board has no corrosion, keyboard is working, power button...

820-3115-B No Orange Light, Won’t charge battery
                          by Rezendes
Hello, I have a MacBook 820-3115-B board that never shows an Orange light and goes straight to a green light and turns itself on when the ac adapter is plugged in. System won’t run off battery and turns off immediately when ac power unplugged. I believe the battery should be ok as it was a replacement not too long ago but it’s possible that’s the issue as most anything is possible I guess. I don’t have any spare batteries or donor boards although I have ordered 2 on the way. I have replaced U7000 and same results. I have also applied flux and reflowed the SMC IC and no change. Nothing...

                          Hi,
I have the above tv that just shows a red light blinking twice 5 times, i have taken the back off and all the capacitors seem ok,
When i disconnect the mainboard from the PSU all the led's light up blinking fast but as soon as i reconnect the mainboard back to the power supply i get the red light blinking again twice 5 times,
I have attached pictures of the Mainboard, PSU and a small video (zipped) showing what happens when i disconnect the lead from the psu
                          Any help would be appreciated...

                          by aahazim
Hello there. I've got an issue with my Macbook Pro A1425 820-3462 with no green/orange light when plug in. Also I was unable to boot with the battery plugged in. When I change the DC-in board to another spare one I had, it show orange light and boot up with fan spinning, without the battery plug in. But it will randomly just not showing the magsafe light and the system become slow and the fans just when erratic all of sudden

Here's the voltage I've measured based on the guide I've read :

Original DC-in board (no green/orange light, no fan spin) :
