Re: Dell N5110 3 Beeps
it's not five minutes... I searched through internet and to convert the N5110 to UMA there are a lot of components to be removed (together with the BGA)

Re: Dell N5110 3 Beeps
the customer doesn't want to pay so I can do all that job converting it to uma. So I'll give it back unfixed and all done.

Re: Dell N5110 3 Beeps
there is no display...
the fan spins...
all the voltages are present...
I followed all the power rails from the schematic and check every one.... all correct.

Dell N5110 3 Beeps
Hello, I have a Dell N5110 Intel version with Nvidia graphics and when it starts I get 3 beeps. Board model 48.4IE07.011. I started by changing RAM and CPU, nothing changed.
Then I tried to reprogram bios with a downloaded dump, again the same. Next try, I changed the IO chip, the same.
Last thing I did I open schematic and boardview and check all the voltages from the power sequence page, and they are all present.
Anything else I can try before I give up on the machine?

Does anyone have the schematic of this board?
Thank you.

Re: Macbook Pro A1286 820-2850-A
The new ISL came in today, i replaced it and now I don't have green light and the mac won't turn on even with the battery. I tried two of them.
CHGR_ACIN is 4.3V and the SMC_BC_ACOK is 0V. On the other side of the R7010 (PPDCIN_G3H) I have 18.5V.

Re: N5010 high temp behind VGA
After the second replacement of the IC with a TPS51125 (didn't have another RT8205) the laptop works. Right now i'm running VGA diagnostic tool for about 20minutes and it's working without shutting down.
Probably the 3v/5v IC was the problem.

Re: N5010 high temp behind VGA
bios version is A12.
on the ATI i put thermal paste instead of thermal pad for better heat dissipation.
And last the IC 3v/5v is getting hot, I replaced it but the same result.

N5010 high temp behind VGA
Hello, I have 2 Dell Inspiron N5010 which are shutting down after max 30 seconds.
On both there was no image on the screen. On the first one I just reballed the same GPU but on the seconds I changed it with a new one. On both boards there is great heat on these caps C8383, C8371, C8370 and the resistance to ground on them is 10.8ohms.
On the one that I changed the BGA, the customer had reflowed the GPU for 5-6 times. I already tried to reball them again.
Anything else I should try??? I cannot find any short circuit....

Re: Macbook Pro A1286 820-2850-A
I accidentaly shorted the ISL6259A to ground so I'm waiting for a new one.
the resistance values are:
R6929 - 2k
R7021 - 10.8Ω
R7022 - 10.8Ω
R7051 - 17.3Ω
R7052 - 0.3Ω

Re: Macbook Pro A1286 820-2850-A
the voltages are (with battery connected because without the battery the motherboard won't start all the times)
PPBUS_G3H - 12.48V
LCD_PWR_EN - 0V
PP5V_S3 - 4.98V
PP3V3_S3 - 3.28V
PP1V5_S3 - 1.48V
LVDS_DDC_CLK - 3.26V
LVDS_DDC_DATA - 3.26V
BKLT_PLT_RST_L - 3.26V
LCD_BKLT_EN - 0V

Re: Macbook Pro A1286 820-2850-A
I'm uploading some photos from the motherboard from both sides. I checked the passives around the U7000 area and none of them seems broken or anything. Also with the multimeter I cannot find anything that shorts to ground....

Re: HP 6735s blinking orange light
This is my motherboard. The reballing process is not something I did it for first time. I have been able to fix many laptops via reballing or changing VGA chip.
All the components around GPU are there, nothing missing. And also I'm using IR instead of hot air, so it is more difficult for parts to get blown away.
I'm thinking that the GPU may be defective so I'll have to order another one to check.

Re: HP 6735s blinking orange light
I tried both putting an RTC battery on the board and changing the IO chip. The same happens.
And I don't have another BGA chip to test.

Re: HP 6735s blinking orange light
it went around 200 for the bga to get soldered (my thermocouple never works fine, always shows less, at around that temperature I desolder all the factory BGAs), so I assume that it is not refurbished.
Voltages on coils are:
L1006 - 5V
L1016 - 3,3V
L1126 - 1.21V
L1028 - 1.12V
L1039 - 0.92V
L1040 - 1.83V
bga and cpu get a bit hot, but I try it without the cooler....

Re: HP 6735s blinking orange light
the five blinks are not repeated. the interval time is around 3 seconds. and also the orange led is blinking every 1-2 seconds.
I have measure for any short to ground on the big coils, all look fine. Also I have all the voltages that are shown on the diagram (page 4 of the manual).
I tried another RAM from a different working HP laptop. I tried again another bios dump.
And still the same.... five blinks from Caps Lock.
