there is a solution , quiet simple , remove the component because it will not be easy to find REAL 2808 i ordered from many places and major part sucked totally , so there is a nice solution for it ,

you will need 2 diode 1N4148 or similar i usually use does glass ones and a pair of bypass shunts.

so diodes will be easy , solder wires on both edges , and the part of the CATHODE (the | trace side ) will be pointed to pin 8 ( so both cathodes will solder to pin 8 the outher side of the diode you will solder one on pin 1 and the outher diode on pin 2 , NOW the important part :

once you got diodes soldered ,chek pin 3 it must be never higher that 3.3 v also chek pin 6 if there is no 3.3 volts (then SIO is dead and need replacement) if pin 6 have 3.3 volts , make a bypass shunt between pin 3 and 6 , and try turn on the machine , usually it turn on and works perfectly
let us know , its something that take around 2 min to do it and saved tons of clevos and outher kind of machines like this

Can you explain the connection on a schema.

I found following information for this chip. I think this may help.

What is this "SIO" you are speaking of?

After a bad storm it died. PU6 (2808) was fried, along with a few resistors on the LAN connector.
Also found intersting video about the 2808 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dLilTxLVCo

Hello everyone! i got a clevo W650SB in my hands that had a blown P2808b0 ic, although it was starting properly if you removed the cmos bat and plug the charger to turn on. the power button did not work from the beginning and it did not have 3.3v on.
so i did the trick with highpulse's steps (which by the way exactly the same saved me a couple of times in the past, thank you for that!!) and the power button immediately got 3.3v but does not power on again with the button (button is working, checked with multimeter). is there a chance the Super IO is faulty even if it gives 3.3v to the power button? p.s. laptop still works if unplug cmos and plug charger, it turns on by itself

Best way to solder LVDS connector for beginner (and qfn) ?
                            by corrize
Hello, I'm a beginner for micro soldering. Right now I have some difficult to solder a qfn 20, I guess I put too much solder on the thermal-ground pad, the result is a corner of chip wich don't touch the board (last try).

I use a wire solder with hot air, I tin the board and chip before with iron and I use good flux.

I will have to solder a LVDS connector (40 pins, laptop pc), I saw a solder paste in seringe, good quality (it does not scatter).
                            See the test :

With hot air from bellow the board, that's...

Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

                            TV backlight zener diode
                            by unimatrix93
Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

The led strips has 9 6V leds.

UV solder mask - high temp resistent, recomendation?
                            by myth77
Can someone recommend any good UV solder mask? But i need a solder mask that will stand high temperetures. The thing is...sometimes i have a bigger cooper ripped from the board, lets say mosfet pad... i reconstract it with cooper sheet, then i "glue it" with solder mask...then i use UV light...and let it cool a bit. After, i try to clean the cooper of extra solder mask..and till that part all is ok. But, when i use a soldering iron to solder that pad/cooper...the solder mask gets weaker or destroyed and finally the pad is ripped again from the board .
                            Is there any solder mask...

So I though in my spare time I’d set myself up repairing motherboards mainly pin damaged lga1151 sockets types.

I’m using an achi ir sc pro rework station (gave up on my Achie ir6500 - don’t recommend)

I’ve managed to get my rework profile somewhere in the correct region (after a lot of trial and error) to get the old sockets off and reflow new ones back on again, the problems I’m getting is not all of the solder balls are re-attaching when re-flow occurs. I know this because when socket is removed pads still look clean and have no solder...
