    Toshiba L750 not charging/How charger ic check battery charge

    Hello, have one toshiba l750 that not charging battery. It have ISL88731 charger ic.

    When i connect battery, it start charging/voltage rise to 12.7V/, but after few seconds it stop charging. I have new replacement battery that is fully charged and it too not getting charged, but when i want to start on battery, it show me led that battery is low charged.

    I think its something bad in checking battery charge. How charger ic detrect battery charge level?

                  try removing this Nec Tokin capacitor with 4 330uF capacitors, be sure to check where's + and -

                      i see mr. tomas9t1 have a 95% point.

                      i have also encountered before have same problem of this model

                      i try to change nectokin. but i used 6pcs of 220uf tantalum...

                          do u think that capacitor on cpu rail who dont have voltage on it until start, will have something with charging ic?

                              I don't think these laptops are old enough to have bad caps. Even if that cap was bad, there is no way that the CPU VRM filter caps would prevent the battery from charging.

                              I didn't look at the datasheet much, so I don't know anything about this charging circuit. Since I have an L750, I should spend some time reading the datasheet to see how it works.

                                              The battery charge state is usually read by the EC directly from the battery via SMBUS.
                                              I cant see anything in the charger IC that allows for remote reading of the battery voltage.

                                                  i know. thats why i search for some low budget SMBUS reader.
                                                  gauging for battery charge is build in charger ic so try to replace it.

                                                      Are you certain that the batteries are ok? What does Windows say about the state of the batteries?
                                                      What does the battery voltage settle back to after the charging turns off?

                                                          when i insert old battery it show it charge but voltage drop few seconds after rising to 12.4V. with new battery start charging but after few seconds voltage drop. even when new battery is charged, when i try to start on battery it show battery is low

                                                              I bought a Vostro 3400 motherboard (LA-K033P) to upgrade over my damaged Inspiron 5593 (LA-J091P) board. Everything else is ok except for the battery. This battery I am using now is already a replacement one since I disposed of the bloated original one. Back in the Inspiron 5593 motherboard, the battery charges fine and is identified just fine. However, with the upgraded motherboard, suddenly the replacement battery is labeled as "Not a dell battery". When I borrow a similar battery from my colleague (which did not have replacements yet), it is identified and charges just fine.

                                                              Is there a way to externally charge a L19D3PDA battery from the laptop. I have a broken charging port on my laptop and am trying to find a way to charge the battery for it. I have been doing some research and I have found that there is a module, TP4056, that can be used to charge Li-ion batteries. It says it is used to charge single cell Li-ion batteries. The L19D3PDA battery is a three cell battery. Is it possible to use the module to charge my battery and it would just be very slow? Or would that be a bad idea. Is there a different kind of module I can use to charge my Li-ion three cell battery?...

                                                              I got to fix STIHL AL 300 battery charger, for mower machines, which works fine only when the battery is discharged ( haven't tried it already, since I got only fully charged battery, but that's why I have been told ). When the battery has some % of voltage, the charger doesn't work. In this case, the red LED starts to flash 10 times, and there is no voltage at the output. The customer tried more batteries, and it worked like this with all tried batteries ( so looks like not a battery related issue ).

                                                              Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.

                                                              This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
                                                              Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.

                                                              I have a drill and battery but no charger so I bought a "universal charger" 120ac in ... 12vdc out (not really universal in lithium world). Anyway it has three contacts, positive, negative and "T" (temperature sensor). I connected those contacts to the contacts on the battery. No charging happened and only the status light is on (green solid) which the label indicates "100% charged".... but the battery isn't near that at around 9v and dying.
