How to activate locked battery

Hi Everyone,

I have this ASUS tuf laptop that had a shorted GPU mosfet repaired but since the short pulled suddely 6 amps from battery and if went to locked state.
The cells are ok Voltages are above avarage and the heated fuse also not blown.
The problem is that battery still not gives out voltage.
I cannot spend 445 Dollars on an NLBA just to unlock 1 battery. Is there any reset I can perform, or any cheaper solution for unlocking or alternativly should i jump the 2 mosfets?

We DID buy this tool but got run over by a drunk driver that works for our decaying city.

Very risky to play with the cells raw. There are protection layers in place for your safety. I believe Sorin had a video on this topic but going from memory here. My vote is to bite the bullet and purchase a replacement pack.

PS: From a very very quick review - the tool is based on tinkering with the BQ / Texas Instruments charger IC and their never ending banks of registers. Using the proper permutation, you may be able to resurrect a dead cell, etc. You may be able to gain the same experience by purchasing an EVK from texas instruments who owns BenchmarQ IP.

Should be ok to use this method which is using a dedicated cell charger which will be safe by design to awaken the dead battery pack cells. Not sure about the locked BMS which I understood to be a well kept secret.

Yeah, my problem is that cells are ok, battery practicaly new, with 2 cycles but locked. No repait shops have nlba around to unlock it

have you asked in the NLBA forum where the nearest repair shop with an NLBA device is?

Thanks i have already done it, When i get home i check if this battery chip is compatible with the ev2400. Maybe i give it a try and let you know the result

Yes you can buy it and use it if it worth over 100$ a year and you know you have enough people who will pay for battery
Our country is poor, most of the laptops come with compleatly dead battery or no battery at all .
