Hello Gurus. I currently have one of these laptops that is very finnicky about turning on. There is no rhyme or reason to it. One day it may turn on and another day it may not. I need some suggestions as to what may be causing this. This laptop does have the AMD Turion Ultra cpu. I would actually prefer it to be dead as it is easier to troubleshoot that way than randomly acting up. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks for the timely responses. It does not have the nvidia gpu. The turn on problem is no reaction to the power button. Runs fine when you get it to turn on but the problem is convincing it to turn on. It has a mind of its own. Does not matter whether the laptop is hot or cold.Comment

Power button itself may function poorly. When it does not turn on, any other signs, does it show battery charging light, adapter connected light? How is the battery? In working condition?Comment

Everything seems to be in place. The battery is charging and the adapter connected light is on. The battery works fine.Comment

Yeah sounds like a bad power switch possibly. Personally I would try shorting the power on terminals to see if it starts more consistently (though obviously be very careful)

First signs of the dreaded nvidia gpu failure, this model is notorious for the failure and to make things worse the motherboard seems to have more flex (thinner)so a lot of repair/reflow/reball places will not touch it because the repair will nearly always bounce.Comment

Hello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited... -
This smaller Samsung TV will turn on fine and work fine at first. By this I mean that it will respond properly to the remote commands with channel up and down working and volume up and down working, etc.
After the set has been on for a while- 20 to 30 minutes- it stops responding or responds erratically to commands from the remote or the front panel buttons. Remote is fine, works well with other TV's.
My guess is caps in the power supply warming up and changing value leading to the erratic behavior. TV does not act erratically unless you try to change a channel or something like... -

Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 4520 from a couple of decades ago and I want to repair it solely for nostalgia.
It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.

Hi everyone,
I am dealing with the problem of turning on and off my Dell e7470 notebook.
The battery charge light is solid white, I press the button, the power indicator and the light on the button are solid for 1-2 seconds and immediately turn off.
The system does not turn on, there is no post.
I removed the RAMs and changed them, changed the battery, RTC battery, AC adapter, removed them and waited, tried again, it does not turn on.
The problem continues in the same way.
