I was wrong about the work from battery, from the datasheet we read :
7.3.1.1
Battery Only
When VCC voltage is above UVLO, bq24780S powers up to turn on BATFET.
This is the PQ5403 on schematic, it connects the battery voltage to B+.
So this mainboard does not work without the charger ic....Leave a comment:

I don't know no checks that can be done, it is ic-s internal fault. If mainboard has no further problems then it probably should work from battery.Leave a comment:

PU5401 = 24780S charger ic
Change it, most likely at fault....Leave a comment:

Measure resistance on pin 5 to gnd. If low ohms, remove 24780s and retest. If it changes to high value change 24780s. If not you might have problem with ec.
If originally pin5 to gnd measures high resistance - check pullup resistor re42, if it is ok then change 24780s anyways.Leave a comment:

What do you mean by that sentence? When controller is removed (desoldered) the resistance is high and when soldered in place it is only 15 ohms?
Or that low ohms reading is after applying power and disconnecting and then measuring?...Leave a comment:

T480s have a lot of shorted capacitor issues, check page 67 in schematic, measure resistance to gnd on PL1 for start....Leave a comment:

The original problem was that TB controller wrote to the chip too often, to the extent that some of the chips were warned out. This might be the case, try another chip.Leave a comment:
