Hi mon2! The voltage on the usb C meter is 20v and 0.01a, then climes to 0.11a for a sec, then loops back to 0.01a. The reading is the same for both usb C ports on both sides. I am using the 61W USB-C Power Adapter and cable that came with the MacBook, but I have also tried another 96w Apple Charger as well with the same results. Also, might be worth nothing that it's the exact same readings even if the battery is connected or not.

Source a good known battery like mon2 stated. Whoever said you donāt need a battery to DFU is some what correct and incorrect. But most likely you will need a good known battery to DFU correctly. Try that first then proceed furthersigpic

Hi mon2! Thanks for your reply. The readings for I2C_PWR_SDA_R2 and I2C_PWR_SCL_R2 are looping from 0v - 1.8v over and over again. The other areas you mentioned have zero voltage.
I2C_THMSNS_SCL_R0 = 0v
I2C_THMSNS_SDA_R0 = 0v
I2C_SENSE_SCL = 0v
I2C_SENSE_SDA = 0vāComment

These are good diode mode readings. With the posted values, these lines are not shorted.
What are the voltage readings to ground for the following points?
SMBUS_3V3_BATT_SCL ; expecting each to be @ 3v3 but confirm
SMBUS_3V3_BATT_SDA
See attached. Check the voltage to ground of PP1V8_G3S. What is the measurement?

by lab10.haifaGood day, friends. Got this problem with M1 macbook - it starts, chimes, tries to boot and stuck with a message "support.apple.com/mac/restore"
It works with DFU mode, but it's cannot be restored. With "revive" function - same problem. Internal restore mode doesn't work, as well as Internet Recovery.
There is no damage on the motherboard. No short circuits.
Could it be a NAND problem? (but usually, if NAND is dead - mac simply wouldn't turn on)
Thanks....10-08-2025, 02:55 AM -
by Flasman90Hi everyone - first time poster on here looking to embark on my first repair! Thank you in advance for any help!
My Macbook only turns on when the charger is plugged in and only the trackpad and fans show signs of life. The display, caps lock light and touchbar do not turn on. There was previous liquid damage to the touchbar but after cleaning and drying the laptop was operational for a year without any issues. There doesn't seem to be any sign of liquid damage to the board, at present.

by WoodsworthHi,
I hope this is the correct place to post about this device. I originally posted regarding this on iFixit so see the details from that post below:
"I'm hoping someone can give their opinion on the symptoms I'm seeing before I spend any more time and put money into this. I got this MacBook from a customer and after looking at it they decided they didn't want it.
It doesn't turn on and there's no visual signs of life. I have tried resetting the NVRAM, SMC, power cycling, unplugging the battery, using the charger with the battery unplugged. Removed the... -
by modtoolDear friends,
a close friend of mine gave me this machine, she told me that the last days the fan was going high and that it was heating up too much for the usual things, and that suddenly one morning it didn't start anymore .
I opened it and inspected carefully with a high magnifying lens, found no oxydized spots but a short on PPBUS_G3H , then a blown U6903.
I changed U6903 with a new one, PPBUS_G3H became 558 (measuring with red probe to gnd , and black on F7000) , PP3V3_G3H_RTC 463.
Now when I plug the usbc cable (original Apple 61W power supply), nothing starts automatically,... - Loading...
