    Toshiba Laptop Boot Error

    Toshiba Laptop Boot Error

    Model: c655d-S5200
    Operating System: Windows 7 Professional

    1. This laptop was working fine and started to slow down. The next day the Windows and log on screens were extremely slow. I thought this may be the beginning of a virus.

    2. I booted the computer and attempted to log on and start a full virus scan. Then, I received an Error: Check cable connection
    Error: PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE-ROM.

    3. Windows 7 will not boot-up and there is no prompt for log on. The PXE-ROM error intercedes and continuously repeat itself with the next key stroke.

    4. Attempted Fixes:

    a. F8 - key works but options return the same PE error.
    b. F12 – restore/repair options fails
    c. 0 - Hidden System restore option fails.
    d. CD Boot from disk fails.
    e. USB – options don't work, cannot access files and no prompt.

    5. I tried using an Image disk ISO file. However, the PME-MOF error repeats itself. When I click on the Windows 7 (CD) the repair and restore options starts but goes searching (just spinning). No repair or restore option works.
    6. Last, I removed the Toshiba HDD and connected a working HDD with Windows Vista via USB. Windows starts but it is interrupted bu the PME-MOF error. This PME:MOF: error just repeats itself (pressing any key to continue) just as my previous attempted fixes.

    7. Looking for advice and what might be causing this problem.

Have you looked inside for any possible viable cause like liquid spill?

Looks like it's trying to boot via LAN... Check for a possible stuck/watered keyboard...
Can you get to the bios and verify boot order?

Possible to unplug KB and see what happens ?

remove your hard-drive and replace with a new one(not from the usb, connect to sata port.), close lan boot from bios.

+1 on hard drive, changed one for my mate, i was also very frustrated about computer being so slow without too much crapware. It was also a toshiba, a model with i3 processor.

Identified dead hdd by installing crystaldiskinfo.

It is a Hard disk failure. You need to replace the hard disk and install the operating the system again. If you data is very very important on the hard disk you can get it recover from data recovery center. But it will cost you for it.

Has anyone Managed to ever solve DFU Restore error AM Restore Error Domain error75?
                  by AJ847.63e
                  Hi All,

Judy doing some research on whether anyone's ever been able to resolve this. Seen quite a few examples and most have just gone eh guess it's dead, but surely there's something we can try?

For instance, I'm working on a 2020 now with this error. Logiwiki says error 75 occurs when the system is in recovery mode but when I connect it to apple configurator it does show up as DFU so that doesn't seem right. When I try to restore it gets up to step 4/4 and the bar gets to the S of system then that's where it gives that code. Apple configurator then sits on "apple...

Nintendo Switch Oled HEG-001: Second-Stage Boot Failure
                  by privato89
                  Hello everyone,

I'm facing an issue with a HEG-001 motherboard that is unable to complete the Second-Stage Boot. I'd like to start directly with my conclusion, which is the decision to replace the MAX77621AEWI chip, and understand if it could be a correct evaluation.

Before I dive into the process that led me to this decision, I want to mention that I have a fully equipped lab where I can perform any kind of tests.

                  Let's begin:

Following some guides online, I tried to understand how the Boot phase of the Nintendo Switch works, and what are the...

Lenovo X1 Carbon 5th Gen - ME boot Error
                  by coolshrimp
I have a "Lenovo X1 Carbon 5th Gen" it has a power up issue and when it tries to boot i get an error ME FW Downgrade - Request MeSpiLock Failed.

Im assuming previous owner tried to downgrade Bios FW or a failed update?

If that is the case how can i fix it. I have a programmer.

Cant boot a USB to update bios.
Cant boot windows to run bios update tool.

I assume ill have to update with programmer.
Do I use a donor image? Can i apply update to the dump or directly to chip?
