    Reviving a partially working battery?

I've got a battery here for an L300. Looks like liquid has been spilled near the contacts, so maybe some kind of protection system has kicked in.

Initially, the laptop would not detect it whatsoever. After some cleaning, It is now detected, and reads:

    Designed Capacity: 44400mWh
    Full Charge Capacity: 25308mWh
    Current Capacity: 11mWh
    Battery Voltage: 11.100v
    Wear level: 43%
    Charge level: 0%

So clearly there is still capacity there. But it simply refuses to charge. As soon as AC is pulled it cuts out.

I'm going to give the contacts another scrub tomorrow, this time with IPA 99.9%. Any other ideas? Am I safe just pouring IPA onto the contacts?

    Cheers

EDIT: Cleaned it again and it's gone back to saying "100% wear, 0v, 0mWh". *shrug*

Cleaned it another time and it's now back to reading with the original list of values.

Why not just replace it altogether? Batteries are like $10 bux mow.

They're £20+ over here ($30USD+). I'd rather get this thing working if possible.

Open it up and replace the board on the battery. Maybe the cells are still good.

I wonder if the battery control IC needs to be reset.
