For few seconds 8.8V on the D and G side of mosfet ,that is the pin #31 and #32 , S side , or the battery terminal is 0V. then it drops to 8.01V od the D and G side...

What mosfet part number is present at this location? The ISL evalboard shows a P-channel mosfet so if the gate voltage is lower than the source / drain voltage, the mosfet will be enabled.
Suspecting that the gate voltage should not be enabled at all times. Test this mosfet in resistance mode (without power) to confirm the mosfet is not defective.Comment

the FET is 3P3R0 P -channel...it works, everything works, except the meter for the battery percentage...it is now charging the old battery with 600mA...the board has a problem that it doesn't see SDA or SCL in the I/O controller probably...maybe i should put the original 9538H chip, since there was no continuity to the SCL pin from the battery, there was 3.01V and OL on the instrument, and i have put the wire directly from the 9238H to the battery connector and now i have 3.46V on both pins and direct connection...but maybe this 9238 is not the same as 9538?Last edited by huzo; 02-07-2025, 11:48 AM.Comment

by sam_sam_samThis started a few days ago and does this about every 8 hours
After it does this it goes back to normal no bad battery icon and no weird sounds and it goes to battery backup mode so I am not sure what is going on with this battery backup
The battery backup is about 3 or 4 years old
Dose anyone have any idea on how to troubleshoot this issue I have never had a battery backup do this kind-a thing before so I am not sure exactly how to troubleshoot it and where to start -
by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell... -
by code shareHi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.
Here's what I've tried so far:- Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
- Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
- Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage
- Battery

by danielsakHello, I have issue with Dell Inspiron 3542.
Motherboard marking:
Code:Cedar_Intel-MB 13269-1 PWB FX3MC REV: A00
- The first problem is that the RTC/CMOS battery self-discharges after about 2-3 weeks after installing a new battery. I have been installing different batteries (GP, Duracell, Energizer) and the problem still exist.
- The second problem is the LAN network card (Realtek RTL8106E), which is not detected at all in Windows. The BIOS is

Hello everyone,
I'm experiencing an issue with my Alienware 15 R2 (Service Tag: DL7NN32). The laptop works perfectly when connected to the AC adapter — it powers on and functions normally. However, the battery does not charge. If I disconnect the DC adapter, the laptop shuts down immediately, as the battery is at 0%. I have replaced the battery with a new compatible one, but the issue persists. I also replaced the AC adapter with a compatible one, but the battery still doesn't charge.
To assist with troubleshooting, I'm attaching two power circuit schematics:- Power
