    HP 6730s no backlight

Hi there, i'm trying to repair an hp 6730s w/o backlight. I try the display and the inverter with another notebook and they work. Now i was measuring voltage with a multimeter. The invterer has 7 input pin.
    I've got:
    pin 1: 19v
    pin 2: 19v
    pin 3: gnd
    pin 4: gnd
    pin 5: 1v
    pin 6: 0.01v
    pin 7: blank

On pin 5 i originally have a voltage of 3,3v but after some test the voltage fell down to 1v. How can i solve this problem? The voltage on pin are "right"? Thanks and sorry for my english

Every inverter has 5 pins. 19V, GND, PWR and DIM. Try to find datasheet of the IC on inverter and try to identify which pin is PWR and which pin is DIM.
Then bring 3.3V-5V on pin that is for PWR, and 1,5V-2,5V on the DIM pin. The inverter should work.
I had one sony that had a problem with the inverter, couldn't find the error on the motherboard, so i connect the volatges manually. Everything is OK, just the backlight doens't shut down when laptop going to sleep, which wasn't a problem at the moment.

Ok, thanks for the reply. Where i can take this voltage from the motherboard?

From USB you can take 5v, you need 3vs
              Can take from q36(FDC655BN)

rdb89 - if you have a multimeter search the board for the voltages you need. It is not that hard.

And i would check the inverter cable for broken leads.

problem is lid sensor switch . find it and remove it from the board the backlight will turn on
