HP G62-b24ST no power, blinking light

    Hi all,

I just had a G62 today with no power fail,
As I check, when plug in adaptor, 19 volt is not stable and constantly changing on motherboard, and power led near power button is blinking, which making me think it is a short component problem, checked all mosfets and diodes on mobo and no trouble found then desoldered all jumpers of 19V in all sections to find out but no change, lately tried to take out CPU & RAM s but problem goes on,
did anyone faced this fail before or anyone can link me schematic ?
I m uploading 3 pictures including both sides and HP mobo part number,
    Thanks in advance,

Constantly changing? What ranges? On the 19v rail, it's usually all or nothing. Highly unlikely something is causing it to fluctuate. This series has a horrible problem of the battery / power management IC going bad. Depending on the board, it'll be TI or ISL. Are you getting 3v from at least one of the battery charging terminals?

yes, I can see 3.3V on charging terminals

Then your problem is not with the 19v rail. Your 3v buck controller is doing its job however the 5v rail is probably your problem. Often these are both controlled from the same PWM. ISL, TI or Maxim. A schematic will help you locate the correct one but often times they are located near the battery terminals or at the DC jack.

                Hi
                I have a G62 b36eo - with allmost same problem.

It works fine when on battery - But plug in AC has no effect:
no light in dc jack - no response at all.

I have found schematics and tryed debugging a bit.

                1. When AC pluged in, m31aacin keeps oscillating on/off

Any common error to check around the max8731 power mm ic?

                Regards Jørgen

                  OK...

                  Pretty similar problem HERE:

                  HP G62-107sa
                  Quanta AX1 ( DA0AX1MB6F0 )

Power LED light (on power connector) is OK...
When switch on power board light for a sec. than cut off...
                  NO fan spinning...

1.After inspecting the mobo found the PL11 is burnt & PR248 had some residue (assume from blown PL11)
                  2.Changed PL11 (R56D 752s) for (R56 948H6X) here I'm not sure if they're compatible...
                  3.Checked the BIOS voltages=looks OK...
                  4.Checked 2 MOSFETS around (PQ64 & PQ65)
5.PQ65 getting 19V on drain = IS IT NORMAL???
6.NO VOLTAGE ON PQ64 DRAIN = IS IT NORMAL???
                  7.Tested PU1 & pin20 (LGATE) gives me 0V
8.IF PU1 is bad (RT8152C) is there any alternative part as can't get this PMIC...

                  ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!THX!!!

                        Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

HP 470 G5 blinking amber light no power

The board is daox8cmb6eo and i can't find no boardview or schematics on the forum or anywhere...

So i plug in the charger, amber light starts blinking ,there is 3.3V and 5V present, and 2.4V on the power button, board doesn't turn on, no shorts...
                        I've tried flashing the bios...

interesting thing is the battery was around 7,8V, and it's 11.1V battery, the mosfet near the battery is open, but not charging,i desoldered it,tested it and it's fine ,but the amber light kept going on the charger so i charged the battery with power supply and got it to about 10.5V...

hello, i have been sitting on some microsoft surface pro 4 tablets for a while now. i was originally tasked with replacing the battery in one of the tablets, and ended breaking the screen and logic board in the process. decided to buy another tablet with the same specs. got that screen off successfully of the second tablet. the logic board appeared good, but i guess i shorted something out in the installation process of the logic which i've read is a common issue if there is no barrier between the logic board and battery pins. all that said, i ate costs of the repair and have...

LG 39ln540v - red light flashes twice, no power to LED driver?
                        by russpall
                        Hi there,

I've got a 39" LG 39LN540V that's just spontaneously stopped working! The symptoms are - when I plug it in, the red light will flash on twice, then go out, there's no visible picture, and I couldn't see anything using a torch on the panel either. If I press the power button (either remote or on TV), the red light comes on continuously. If I press power again, the red light flashes twice.

The TV is using a power board EAX64905301. I've attached a diagram of the power output, I've tested the voltages with a multimeter and I'm getting the following:
                        ...
