LG 39ln540v - red light flashes twice, no power to LED driver?

    Hi there,

I've got a 39" LG 39LN540V that's just spontaneously stopped working! The symptoms are - when I plug it in, the red light will flash on twice, then go out, there's no visible picture, and I couldn't see anything using a torch on the panel either. If I press the power button (either remote or on TV), the red light comes on continuously. If I press power again, the red light flashes twice.

The TV is using a power board EAX64905301. I've attached a diagram of the power output, I've tested the voltages with a multimeter and I'm getting the following:

With no pins connected - I get 3.3v on A7 and A8, no power anywhere else.

With pins A8 and A9 connected, I get:
    A1 - GND B1 - 0v
    A2 - 12.1v B2 - 0v
    A3 - 12.1v B3 - 12.1v
    A4 - 0v B4 - 0v
    A5 - 23.7v B5 - 23.7v
    A6 - 0v B6 - 0v
    A7 - 3.5v B7 - 0v
    A8 - 3.5v B8 - 0v
    A9 - 3.5v B9 - 0v

With pins A7 and B9 (labelled DRV-ON) connected, I was expecting to get some power through the separate connector for the LED, but I seem to be getting 0v.

Am I right in concluding that this is a faulty power board, or have I tested this incorrectly?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Russ

Try using three 1K ohm resistors, cable from powerboard to mainboard must be unhooked, how I do it is disconnect cable on mainboard side, connect the resistors to end of connector one each from the 3.5 A7 or A8 to PWR-ON, do same for DRV-ON and PDIM, so drv-on and pdim also connect to one of the 3.5, plug power cord into powerboard, all voltages should be there and backlights should be on. Be sure and use the resistors, they protect the board in case theres a mistake made in connections.
