    Macbook A1706 820-00293

    Hello,
    Namaste.
    We have a Macbook A1706 (820-00239). The laptop was bought back from a customer. The touchbar was broken ( No Image) but touch used to work.

    One day it had a "Critical Software Update Error" issue.
    So we tried a lot of things.
    Re-installed the Software.
    Unplugged the Touchbar Flex etc.

    It then got back to working but the touchbar now became totally unresponsive. (No Image. No touch).

    We ordered a new touchbars but none of them worked. We thought they maybe they were faulty. We tried installing the board on a working macbook. Still the same.

    I cannot see the "ControlStrip" or "TouchBarServer" in the Activity Monitor as well.

    Is it the U3900 chip ?? or Some Software Patch i can download?

    The board has no liquid spill or anything.

    Any help would be really helpful.

          Hey !!
          So it's confirmed that its a Motherboard issue as
          “TouchBarServer” isn't available in the Activity Monitor.

          We'll be doing the U3900 replacement . Will update once done.

              Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

              My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

              This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

              Hi to all,
              the owner of this macbook brought it to me after a fall, that hit the upper right corner of the top case.
              Luckily enough, the screen and all other parts of the machine haven't been damaged, only the touch bar wasn't lighting up anymore, and the macbook began to behave strangely, because it seems to start and work fine but suddendly it shutsdown (and at the same time the fans make a high rotation for half a second, as if an animal was annoyed by something...) at random times, sometimes after 2 minutes, sometimes after 5 minutes, but never over 10 minutes, then restarts...

              Hello,

              I have a Macbook Pro 2017 Touchbar (A1706) that suddenly shut down for no reason.
              So I took it apart and started measuring.
              The PP3V3_G3H seems problematic. I traced the line to component U6903 and on Pin 10, I measured 1.9V instead of 3.3V.
              Unfortunately, my skills stop there and I don't understand where this type of failure can come from.
              I saw on videos of repairers that the failure could come from the U7000 component which would be at the origin of the 3.3V but they have absolutely no voltage. I have a 1.9v...
              What do you think ?...

              Actualmente tengo un problema con una macbook pro A1706 820-00923 SN:C02VD3GJHV2Q

              hello,
              so i have an macbook pro A1706, motherboard 820-00923, everything works and it does charge without a problem but when i plug anything to the usb c it doesnt do anything, it doesnt give 5V on usb drive or any other peripheral,

              i have opened the macbook and i can see some little corrosion on C7601 and C6950,, i have cleaned it and i measure 15v on C6950 PPVBAT_G3H_CONN
