D747m_1v3 logic board for remote gate

    Good day,
My remote gate stopped working. The company said the main logic board needs replacement. After examining and running a couple of tests, I discovered what looks like a shorted zener diode. Tracing the path on the board it appears to be across a voltage regulator chip (78m05). After reviewing the datasheet for the voltage regulator I thought that it was being used with a zener diode as a voltage boost regulator. However, looking at the layout of the board the "shorted diode" is not connected as in the datasheet. The diode does not have a markings so I am not sure what to replace it with. The 78m05 chip outputs 5v according to the datasheet. I'm assuming that the microprocessor vcc is that. I applied around 1V, 1A after removing the diode and the 78m05 chip to the vcc pin of the d747m_1v3 microprocessor and it drew around 287mA while I eventually raised the voltage to 5v. I believe if the diode in question is used for protection then the circuit may work without it if tested. I have attached some pics hoping that someone can assist me. If I can get a schematic that would be awesome. Thanks for reading my post and I look forward to any feedback.

It might be a 5.6v ~ 6v melf diode, I would replace it, without the diode to short if the voltage goes up over 5v I suspect the cpu would be the next to short, not good

I think the same. It's just a protection diode for the 5v output of the regulator. This opener should work without the diode for testing.

I suggest to remove that diode and measure the resistance from the 5v rail to gnd.

Good day, the resistance on the 5v rail is 19 ohms.

              that sounds bad,
42ohms at 5v will be a lot of current

                It’s about 119ma of current.

When I applied 10v (1.5A) at the input (pin1) of the 78m05 regulator chip the current drawn by this part of the circuit is around 287mA at 10v. All other checks on the board tests OK. I will now attach the board and tests it on the remote gate and let you all know how it goes....thanks

Hello everyone, I wanted to inform you that the board repair was successful. Additionally there were some cracks on the solder joints of the relay pins. The remote gate works fine. Thank you for all your assistance and recommendations...cheers

DeLonghi AC Remote only accepts 3V
                      by cstout
Hello all, I've been looking into this portable air conditioner's remote control and can't find what could be causing the problem - or possibly this remote is just terribly designed.

The remote only works at exactly 3V - if I drop it any lower, using my bench power supply, to say, 2.9V then the remote will not flash the display and turn off. I don't have any AAA batteries that are exactly 1.5V each so I'm not sure if this remote is designed this way - to only use the freshest possible batteries, or if there's a failed component in the mix.

                      I can't find any schematics...

                      A2681 Keyboard, trackpad and sleep?!
                      by iMuhtaseb
Wow it's been a while since I posted!

This is a weird case, it has a history of liquid spill a year ago but customer did not want to replace neither trackpad or keyboard.. fast forward for today:

A2681 turns on but not trackpad or keyboard feedback (or external keyboard and mouse) and then after a minute or so the Mac sleeps..

It's a NOT a sleep sensor or trackpad or keyboard or daughterboard or anything else (I replaced all those); it's the logic board..

Tested another locked logic board on customer's top case and it posted with keyboard and...

                      by asr
Hello, I am looking for help to replace a damaged diode. The tristar was replaced and a diode was damaged in the process. I have a picture of the diode but dont have an exact donor. I mostly have macbooks for donors and only a few ipad and iphone boards. Diode part number: DSF01S30SCAP
Im not sure where to find the ipad board number. Anybody have an idea where else this diode is used on other boards? Thanks....

Toshiba 50lf711u20 fire tv remote not pairing

                      Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help my in pairing a remote with a Toshiba fire tv?
The Tv model number is: 50lf711u20 Rev B.

I've already replaced all the the circuit boards within the tv along with the I.R. sensor receiver.

I've tried 3 different remotes which should be fully compatible with this TV.

Oddly enough. A few if the buttons on all of the remotes actually work. Even without pairing...which makes no sense.

The power button, along with the volume, back, select, and directional...
