DELL Wyse 5070 BIOS

Hi!

I kindly need your help with a DELL Wyse 5070 thin client which has locked BIOS settings (I want to change the boot order but I have to provide a password first). Is it possible for someone here to help me ?

I am attaching the original bios dump of the machine in question.

Just programmed the flash and soldered it to the motherboard but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. I get the following error code.

Two blinks followed by a short pause, one blink, long pause, then repeats. Which translates to "bad motherboard". If I flash back the original BIOS it works but BIOS settings are locked with Admin password.

Thanks for your try though and If you have any idea what's wrong please post a new BIOS files.

• Administrators—The default user name is Admin and the default case-sensitive password is DellCCCvdi.

Unfortunately, the password doesn't work for this thin client. This machine found in a recycling bin and turned out to be an HSBC property (based on the logos during the boot) so for sure they would never use this well known public password for the BIOS. If someone can help to unlock the BIOS of this machine would be wonderful as it can become a powerful home Linux router. Right now it boots only from the on board soldered emmc or the ethernet but it also has m.2 slots for ssd drives. All the BIOS options are locked and can't change the boot order or the boot devices.

i have multiple dell wyse 5070 thin clients, that was shipped with hp 90w adapters.. sadly it wont work unless its the dell brick with the integrated ic that has the 90w info on it... hp adapters obviously got me stuck with 1.5ghz and limited power usage

i dumped the wyse bios using my programmer, can some1 help me disable that powerlimit please ?

Thread merged. It is something that cannot be changed in the bios, just use original dell adapters.

I don`t know, but i translated part of the readme -

The BIOS file is in the BIOS folder. Flashing it can directly solve the power identification problem and improve performance. However, DELL protection does not allow soft flashing of BIOS. The CH341A programmer must be used to directly flash the BIOS chip. The BIOS file was modified by @Naivekun. The main functions are: Delete power detection, and it can be used as long as it is plugged in Increase PL1 turbo frequency limit, and the performance is on par with J5040 Increase CPU main frequency (not effective) ⚠Note: Flashing BIOS may cause the motherboard serial number and integrated network card MAC address to change Power supply Voltage range According to the test, Wyse5070 allows a wide voltage range of 9~20V. If using a battery, a 4S lithium battery can be directly passed through to avoid voltage regulation and improve battery utilization Power identification It is recommended to use a DELL power adapter, and it is best to buy a model marked with 120W information flashed in. To prevent the motherboard from identifying the power supply as insufficient and prohibiting turbo frequency when plugged into a fat machine It is not recommended to use the original 19V laptop power supply, because the subsequent use of the PCIe adapter card requires 12V power supply

You know something ? Your link helped me to unlock the BIOS, it solved my original problem the reason I did this post. I decided to give a try to this BIOS because I was sure it was unlocked and made to be flashed in any Wyse 5070. I tried but the first time it didn't boot but I had no error code so I decided to clean the IntelME region and re-flash it. The machine booted and the BIOS is now fully unlocked
