Hi, thank you for the help! Is the DMI info (like Windows key) integrated? I managed to write the serial using u1 tool, but the Windows key, UUID etc. are missing.....

Hi there,
recently, I've got an IdeaPad with a locked BIOS, is there any way to remove it from the following dump?
That would be great!
Thanks in advance,
Turner...

Hey, you just need to put the jumper on the board to CMOS CLR and leave PW CLR free. Then remove the jumper from CMOS CLR and boot the thin client. (Without putting the jumper on any of the pins)
It'll then switch to manufacture mode and delete the supervisor password....

I've done that, thanks! But it still seems like it's replacing the freshly programmed BIOS with the old one (double checked and verified using NeoProgrammer), and that "Thunderbolt Boot support" entry is still missing in the BIOS.....

So that means I should flash the working BIOS without correct serial, then boot from U1 USB and change everything?...

Hey guys, I found a BIOS dump here on Badcaps, this does contain another serial though. I'd like to know whether it is possible that we change the DMI info..
My serial is: MP1G7GBU. My original BIOS is somewhat corrupt, the file "ELZP3206" is a fully working BIOS, but it's missing my serial etc.
Can anyone look into this?
Thanks in advance!...

Hi hoaca388, is the file which kalilinux provided the same as yours or is it different? I feel like that I need a fresh BIOS which is extracted from Lenovo website and modified with my serial number. The thermal cooling options in the BIOS are missing, and these laptops actually have this option, but it's missing on mine.. do you have time to have a look at it? Thanks!...

Okay, I got it. But I got one more thing.. it doesn’t do that while plugged in - it’s fine when plugged in and generally only does this while on DC (battery).
It boots up, does not even show the loading icon (circular thingy while booting Windows) and then slows down (0.47-0.49 GHz) till I enter my password and it initializes itself. (Takes 20-30 sec)
I don’t know what else we can do.....

It worked but didn't fix the problems. For some reason, the fingerprint reader stopped working.....

I'll try it once I'm back home, thank you so much for providing a cleaned file. Got one question tho.. is that file containing my serial number or do I have to add it manually by myself?
Thanks!...

Lenovo Yoga 730-13IWL - ME cleaning
Hi!
I feel like that the ME region of this laptop needs to be cleaned, the laptop works but is slow on boot (0,41GHz CPU frequency all time).
Battery is new, so I don't think that it may be related to the battery.
I'd appreciate it if someone takes a look at the BIOS bin I've provided.
Thanks!...

I've attached the Thunderbolt firmware for the Yoga 730-IWL models, it may work on the "IKB" models as well. Only tested on my 13IWL model. Everything is working fine.
Flashed it like this:
1. Read the current content of the Winbond W25Q80DV chip, it's 3.3V, CH341A programmer will work as well.
2. Do a backup of the current content of the chip in case something goes wrong (xD)
3. Erase the IC and ensure it's erased by clicking on "erasure control or blankcheck" in NeoProgrammer
4. Grab the 1MB FF bin and flash it.
5. Turn...

Fixed by writing the chip with zeroes and reflashing the firmware provided by Lenovo. Modified the TB firmware of the ThinkPad P51 for the Yoga 730. They both use the same Alpine Ridge JHL6540 controller. (15D2)
Thanks to SMDFlea for providing information!
I will upload the bin file as soon as I'm in my office. Forgot it on my office notebook....

Acer VN7-571G - turning off by itself without warning and doing a restart
Hi. I'd like to ask something about one of my laptops, the "VN7-571G", which is behaving abnormally. It turns on and I can use it for a while. I upgraded the hardware of the laptop to be more responsive and reliable, but it turns out that it's not reliable at all. It originally had 8GB of RAM, a 1TB hybrid SSHD and a WiFi 5 card. I upgraded the RAM to 16GB, installed a 128GB SSD and instead of the SSHD, I installed a normal 2TB HDD for files. So far so good. Then I cleaned up the fans and replaced the thermal paste with some fresh Arctic MX-4. Proceeded to upgrade the WiFi card and installed...
