I've gotten a couple of GX270 boards in where everything had been recapped except for those. They were so carefully pressed down that the recapper missed it.Comment

Pushing down the bulged vents could cause the capacitors to become a short circuit, possibly causing more damage!My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.Comment

what suck is as is mobo that have no failed caps. as is ones with badcaps are easy money half the time because new caps fixes the problem.
or ones that the title includes somthing involving "no bad caps!!!!!!!" and the pic they include is 40x40. no bad caps my ass.sigpic

when i'm surfing on ebay for mainboards, i always look at the caps if the board is an older one..
and relatively often, i find autctions where the seller says "perfectly working condition" or "just like brand new"..
example pic (gigabyte dual socket 604 serverboard)
seller says "used, but in top condition"..

look at the yellow Fujitsu caps..
especially next to the bios battery and at the lower one at the PCI slot..
i've even seen commercial (?) sellers (meaning non-private ones..) selling a sh*tload of used boards quite pricey but "tested & in perfect working condition" with kingsize pics of the board where you could see electrolyte oozing out of the caps.. arrrggghhhLast edited by Scenic; 07-30-2009, 09:10 AM.

i had that happen with a tyan board off ebay. the seller didnt know as he was selling for someone else but let me keep the board free of charge.
but i recapped using a crap iron and killed the dumb thing
and i feel like crap about it.

My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

Recently I got a DELL PSU from a presision T3600. It is a 635W PSU which went out with a bang and some black smoke
. The model of the PSU is a D635EF made by DELTA.
The cause of the bang was a blown. TNY280PN Chip. How ever as a result or as a causo also two SMD resistors are smoked. I have been able to replace the TNY280 Chip but I do not know the values of the resistors. The resistors are within the Drain line of the TNY. I can not find the schematic of this PSU. THe resistor are Open Loop and on the voltage accross them is about 330V. (EU)

Hey Guys I've got XPS 9570 with a blown isl chip that caused a lot of damage and I'm kinda having a tough time fixing it. I tried using 0.10mm wire to rebuild the traces but they ended up not taking solder very well making it difficult to solder the chip on with hot air.Any advice on how to rebuild solid nice traces? I got a Dell Latitude 5420 (Service Tag: 7RFM6D3, Motherboard: GDF40 LA-491P Rev.: 2.0 (A01)) which does not start and I want to repair it. These are the symptoms:
