Hello and nice to meet you to the forum! I bought this board with bad caps! the previous owner says that is not working at all! i bought it in order to do a full recap espacially on the vrm cirquit! it has nine OST capacitors 680uf 4v on the vrm and the bulged ones are 6. i was thinking of using the nichicon S8 series 560uf 6.3 volt with 0.008 esr in order to change all the Ost and i want to ask you if it is a good choice or may i buy some panasonic fm or fr which are cheaper but the efr is 0.056! i am asking you your opinion because i am afraid of the survival of this board but on the other side i have read in some posts here that these boards with g31 will survive with a recap! i am sorry for the only one blur picture,when i receive it i will take some much more quality ones! thank you very much!

Go with the 560uF Nich S8 polies. I use 560uF polies to replace those 680uF OSTs on MSI boards all the time.

Thank you very much for your repply "c hegge"! i will post again with my procedure! is it good to replace and all the kzg's at the same time? what is your opinion about the existing board? can these msi be survived only with a recap? thanks again!

If the board has KZGs (or TKs, Teapos, or any other OSTs), then definitely replace them too.

For the four taller ones which are near the rear IO ports, you can use 470uF 16V solid caps. I used Nichicon NE 470uF 16V on an identical board to this before, and it worked perfectly. (although you can leave them alone of they are Panasonic FJ or FL. I can't tell from the pic what they are).

Hello again! i was warking today with the board!!! here are some pictures! OST capacitors were in terrible condition!!! they are the worst capacitors i have ever seen!!!

The condition of those caps, look more like the VP6-era and socket 478-era.

More like the photos folks were used to seeing during the old school badcaps.net times!

That's pretty common on those boards. The OSTs really don't like being placed directly under the CPU heatsink.

I see Teapo(vision ) on the board too. For those, you can use Panasonic FR and FM. Definitely replace if you want worry and trouble -free operation for years ahead in time.

OST need to change....

seems behind those OST look like .... TK capacitors... if so , also change it.

Those blue OST caps looks similar to my MSI G31M3-L (MS-7529)

if you couldn't get result with changing capacitor you must rewrite the bios chip.

This board and msi g31m3 -l v2 needs bios rewrite for resurrection.

i did 9 boards.
