Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
I have P5B Deluxe and there is no LED there. MOBO acts now like it would be bricked, I have two exactly same PSU's, when I connect one nothing happens and when I connect another, blue light comes up(means powered but not running). I can't even get to "chassis intrusion" error anymore, and that's not solved yet. Both PSU's work fine with other motherboards, don't know how it's possible that one doesn't even turn mobos blue light on.
I had E8400@4GHz that worked just fine, no problems with Windows 10 and internet browser or videos, but those times are gone. I will be probably getting some other parts, and I gave up with ASUS motherboards.
Thanks for attempts, cheers.

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
What is odd, when I plug and power my mobo, it first flashes with red diode(like it would work) but then powers down(blue) and starts again into chasiss error(red). Moreover after unplugging it and leaving off for longer periods of time then connecting(blue), it doesn't start after pressing power. But if I leave it like that it will start(red) into error after 2-3 minutes, like it would be somehow delayed.
I know the ROG versions do and the red LED of doom is likely a bad socket pin!
The only one I saw was an older-style round green one on the bottom for stand-by power...Last edited by RJARRRPCGP; 07-01-2017, 10:12 AM.Leave a comment:

And one more thing, I do believe that I've tried swapping PSU's and it could have some effect too.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
Hey there, thanks for answer. Sadly it seems that "chassis intrusion" wasn't the only problem my board had and it's bricked now. But to add bit to discussion, I have reminded myself that when my board stopped to work with "chassis intrusion" for the first time, it took me nearly 12 hours of keeping it powered down and unplugged. Then I have connected everything like it was before problem happened(battery/bios was zeroed) and it somehow launched normally. Board kept working fine for next few months, just until now.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
Also, issues that "fix" themselves also tend to come back by themselves. So once something is not working right, don't ignore it.
As for the transistor... use a multimeter to find which one it is. Should be somewhere near the chassis intrusion jumper. Probably SOT-23 package.
I'll try to have a look at the board later tonight and see if I can locate it for you (I'm on a very old and slow laptop right now, so browsing through images online is not very easy).Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
Is there any way of fixing it without removing transistor and soldering wire? I had this problem before and somehow things started to work fine after some time, all by themselves. But the problem is back again, and I have no idea what to do.
Also, does anybody have transistor/3.3v locations for P5B-Deluxe? It was one of most sold P5 boards out there. Pics are easily available on google images.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
Thanks, for the instructions to repair the chassis intruded error. I have an Asus P5KC and did the fix, however, it turns out jumping 3.3v back to the transitor pad was unnecessary. When I connected back the pin chassis intrusion connector it would not boot, so I unconnected it and boots fine with the exception that if I disconnect the power cord then the bios settings are lost.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
It's a asus p5E and in the board are print maximus formula, i have done exactly what you do , and i think it's work.
I have reboot 3 times and no error, let's see, cause i have to put the cooler in processor, so i can't test to much time right now, but so far so good!
Thank youLeave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
hello, I have same problem with my old asus p5pe-vm, no chassis intrusion connector on this board
I have observed near winbond chip area, and I found no transistor, it has a solder pad but no transistor soldered on it
this board use winbond W83627 series on it, I have looked on the datasheet and found that pin 76 on this chip is controlling CASEOPEN# function
what can I do now? I have no idea how to fix this old boardLeave a comment:

No problem. Please let us know if you got your motherboard working. Would be good to see if another motherboard was saved.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
Again, it is best to apply 3.3V to the Drain of the chassis intrusion transistor (preferably through a 100-1000 Ohm resistor to avoid damage if you accidentally short-circuit something) and ground the Gate of the same transistor (if you are NOT going to ever use the chassis intrusion function.
The second motherboard might have a different problem if it doesn't POST.Leave a comment:

If I replace the Chassis Intrusion transistor that from another p5ql-e motherboard will fix this error ?
I have 2 of p5ql-e ,1st work with Chassis Intruded error and 2nd can not turn onLeave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
Yes, very likely.
If you read the entire thread, Th3_uN1Qu3 mentioned that this problem possibly affects many other ASUS P5___ motherboards.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
The transistor may stay charged for a while and thus not show the error. Best to keep the wire connected.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
Accidentally wire from ATX connector disconnect but motherboard still works normal and not showing chassis intruded?
Is the wire useless?
I have wrong bios (P6T WS) if its matter.Last edited by drag; 07-24-2016, 11:35 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: [HOWTO] Fix/Repair "Chassis Intruded Fatal Error System Halted" on Asus P5QL
I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this.
Just use your multimeter to find a 3.3V source near the ATX connector and run a wire from that to the Drain of the Chassis Intrusion MOSFET. Make sure the Gate of that MOSFET is grounded, otherwise that MOSFET will try to pull 3.3V rail to ground and *will* burn out.
THAT WORKING
But Windows 10 then makes some updates and reboot and...
HORRIBLE CHASSIS INTRUDED ERROR SHOWS ITS FINAL POWERS AND APPEARS ONE MORE TIME
Then I boot again and now Asus P6T SE working almost normally
Its been a very interesting project and thanks to momaka who helped me!Last edited by drag; 07-20-2016, 07:45 AM.Leave a comment:

by angelosHi all,
I got in this beast of a tv of which i am needing advice on how to access the AUTO GEN function so that i can test if my main board is perhaps faulty.
There is a 4 pin plug on the plasma control board but i don't know what to do there and i cannot find any reference on the web to it.
I have added photos to jar your memories...
This is PDP42V8 chassis.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
