Enough to make you angry. If they use good caps elsewhere, can't they fill the whole section with them? At least use a better bad cap.You know there's something wrong when you open up a PSU and are glad to find Teapos.

Hmmm, I'm guessing there's a number of revisions of this board. I have one in front of me with no obvious rev. no. on it, yet it looks different to both this Rev1 pictured above and the Rev2 shown in this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3244
Mine has a heat sink over the mosfets and all nichicon caps.
It appears to have a RAM power fault as holding the RESET button brings the DIMM LED on, but on releasing reset it goes out.

One of my friends had this board on his older computer. The exact same four 3300uF 6.3V GSC caps were bulging and leaking. Seems to be a common problem with those caps / the board...
The leaking caused the CPU voltage go up and down all the time. It usually got pretty hot and rebooted a few times. Luckily we built a new pc for him so he got rid of the crapcapped board. A motherboard should never go to waste, so would it be wise to recap the board?Comment

GSC caps from around that period are liable to be all extreme crap.
If the MB was functional when pulled from service yes very good chance recap
will have it humming along
it is possible for badcaps to take out other things but mostly you will be ok
in the photo posted the green caps look like Sanyo WG they should be fine but check the MB for other know crap
(I am not sure of the construction but possible the GSC have caused damage to Sanyo by placing a greater work load on them...really depends on whats doing what, mostly caps are grouped in area's of operation and not good idea to mix and match caps in VRM output )
Replace ALL crap GSC if popped or not with low ESR quality types read the posts around here for recommended
Samaxon ...panasonic FM Ruby MCZ etc
size may be more your issue. so samaxon might be the way to go

Yep, the board is fully functional. The voltage did go up and down but he never used it for anything stressing, since a 1.7GHz Celeron paired with a SiS 650 IGP graphics chip can't play any games that well =P
I live in Finland and capacitors are a little hard to find here online. Sure, there would be tons of 'em in an electronics store, but it would be a lot handier to order them online.
I found THESE. They are Sanyo 3300µf 6.3V caps, 12.5mm in diameter and the height is 20mm. MV-WX series. Are those any good/would they fit?Comment

Link does not take me to a product.
The originals look like 10mm but hard to tell.
12.5mm replacing 10mm next to CPU socket would be difficult and maybe impossible.
GSC 3300uF 6.3v [old caps]
10x25mm, ripple:2250, ESR:0.017
12.5x21mm, ripple:2360, ESR:0.021
Sanyo WX 3300uF 6.3v [proposed caps]
12.5x20mm, ripple:2360, ESR:0.021
There are many brands that make 3300uF 6.3v in 10mm an not to hard to find ones with better specs. (Though WX is apparently good enough to match originals if they are 12.5mm.)
If there are Sanyo around there look for WG series to get 10mm and better ratings.

Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

Hey All,
I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.
Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

Hi again guys.
Today I have a problem with this Sanyo VCR.
I bought it online, It worked sometimes.
I recap the Power supply and it started working fine.
Image is perfect and all digital effects too.
All of a sudden it stopped outputting sound. I checked for dried solders an all boards and soldered when needed, no fix.
I have no sound on playback, on tuner, or aux in.
On symptom I noticed is when it was working fine, the HI-FI led was on when I power up the VCR, now is OFF, A-B leds are on but when I put a tape they go off.

I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.
The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.
Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.
