Thanks to this forum Soltek 75KAV problems solved!

This forum and all info therein is greatly appreciated. I've just got my Soltek 75KAV mobo back up and running after nearly going bald with stress to do with growing flakiness and data loss on my Soltek 75KAV system. I found this forum via the PressF1 New Zealand forum.

In the course of doing the repairs I have now mutated a genetically enhanced robotic right arm for soldering/desoldering Seriously, I've learnt heaps. Thank you all! I'm a happy chappy.

it is great to hear of your success. can you show a pic of the recapping or talk about the caps you used, your method etc.

Cap Removal Process - Rock it out.

4 images show how I removed the crap caps successfully, and relatively quickly.

Resizing one of the 4 images above - possible?

              Thanks willawake

I just noticed that the third image in the cap removal sequence slipped through in a larger size than I intended. Is it possible for me to edit/replace it with a smaller version so all the pics are roughly the same?

                        Magnifier Headband

Worth its weight in gold for cap replacement. This one has 3 levels of magnification - I used all three of them!

Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

Need help to solve some problems with this laptop.

After working in bed with it one night and heating up too much (probably the cause of this problems) the sata HDD OS windows froze
After restart the original Sata HDD was not recognized anymore (but works fine in other laptops or PCs)

Tried connecting other good Sata 2.5 HDDs but not one is working in this laptop anymore (not the original nor others)

Hello everybody! It's been nine years and I'm back again with the same monitor that several people here helped me fix back then. The first time, I replaced two caps as was recommended here and the original problem was solved. Then it started acting up a few years later and I came back for a parts list and replaced a few more caps (I didn't make a post about that and don't remember which ones), and again the problem was solved. This time, however, I'm not sure if it's caps.

The monitor stays on but certain colors will flicker. Generally it's darker colors like dark greys or dark blues,...
