    Invertor problems

    Can any one please help,

I have 5 stand along 17" tft inverters, all with the same problem. Thay have 4 outputs for 4 light, 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom. When I power them up the 2 top light work fine but the bottom 2 only light up half way (looks as if thay are not getting enough power) I have changed the light around and stil the same, so the problem is the inverters not the lights. I have changed all the caps and still the same. My question is what can made this happen.

    Thanks for any help

    Re: Invertor problems

It's an interesting problem, and frankly I don't have a good idea why it's only happening on the lower pair. As a first step, I would try resoldering all terminals on the transformers. See if that changes anything. Also, look for any sign of arcing.

The next step would be to swap parts from the lower section with parts from the upper section. The most likely candidate would be the transformer, then the drive transistors. Pictures would help if you want more precise directions.

Here is my suggestion on your problem!

If you look closely at the Photo I have included, you will see how the power
is generated for the CCFL's. Now, you have two of these circuits, UPPER &
LOWER supplying 4 CCFL's. Since you can swap CCFL's and you have the
same problem, it is associated with only one PLUG. Can't possibly be a
Transformer (unless you have a separate Transformer for each CCFL) because
one Transformer supplies two bulbs. It could be the small cap (CY2) is open
on the HV AC output side right before the Plug, a cold solder joint, a blown
circuit board trace, or internal to the PLUG. If you swapped the CCFL, and it
worked it can't be the CCFL.

One trick you might want to try is to get a Neon bulb, trim one lead off the
Neon, and wrap the other one around a wood skewer. While holding the wood
skewer, you can move the Neon in proximity to the wiring for the non-working
CCFL, and see if the Neon Bulb lights. That proves you have HV AC going to
the CCFL. And you can test on a good circuit to know exactly how bright
it should be. (While I haven't tried this on a CCFL yet, it should work.)

Let us know what you find.

How many Transformers does your Inverter really have?

Agree with PlainBill : post pictures so you can get better suggestions.

            Hello Terry
Can you give us some info, I and some members no doubt would like to know
1.What make and model of monitor did these inverters come out of ???
2.What was fault in transformer (bad solder or burnt out section etc) ???
3.How many transformers on inverter ??? (I presume two)
            Thanks

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
              by ttmi100x
              Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

              Upon closer inspection...

Help on Samsung Syncmaster T220 dead ccfl lamp
              by mikey5791
              Hi,

This monitor previously is my main working monitor which i have been using for 8~9 years. Yesterday, when i switched on my pc from fresh to power on, the monitor is just black no display. I started dismantle to look inside the monitor power board but nothing looks suspicious or burnt. So i took my external ccfl inverter to try to power the monitor ccfl lamps which consisted of 2 lamps on upper part and 2 lamps on the lower part.

Found out the upper ccfl lamp which is supposed to connect to cn304 on the power board did not light up. Then i installed a used working...

on this laptop hp g72 b52sf i have screen problems as you can see with the photo joined in attachments.
the used graphic card is "intel hd graphics" and the id of the integrated screen is : "monitor/SEC3354".
i verified the driver of the pΓ©ripherals and they are ok. i verified the definition and settings of the graphic card and of the screen : definition 1600x900 and refreshment frequency :60hz. (they are the sames for the graphic card and the screen).
i don't understand the reasons of the white stripe at the bottom of the screen below the task...

              USB problems?
              by Hondaman
Recently I discovered my SSD died (OCZ/Toshiba 240 GB). It was in a USB enclosure, attached to the Linksys WRT-AC1200 router. Since then I removed the USB enclosure and attached it to my Win7 PC (AMD 8150 CPU, 970 chipset, 64 GB RAM). I also gathered one or two other USB enclosures to figure out what is going on.

(I suspect that I lost quite a few MP3 and FLAC files I recently ripped from my audio CDs, I think I lost very little un-replaceable stuff.)

I think it is IMPOSSIBLE for Win7 to have any problems with a USB enclosure as long as Win7 knows how to speak to the...

Lenovo 11e problems (any sata hdds are not recognized, sleep battery drain)
              by clabr
Need help to solve some problems with this laptop.

After working in bed with it one night and heating up too much (probably the cause of this problems) the sata HDD OS windows froze
After restart the original Sata HDD was not recognized anymore (but works fine in other laptops or PCs)

Tried connecting other good Sata 2.5 HDDs but not one is working in this laptop anymore (not the original nor others)

Before this had happened I observed some other problems:
When I tried replacing original mecanical HDD with a SSD HDD could not get them...
