Re: Fujistu-Siemens LCD Color monitor B17-1 strange problem

Rtech, thanks first of all to answer me.
I'm sorry if my english is not correct, but I am Italian.
Not knowing the value of those capacitor's, (and not knowing the value) I felt proceed as follows:
On the internet I found out that they themselves capacitor's: 7c184j 250V are also mounted on this monitor: VIEWSONIC VX715, I downloaded the service manual:
http://elektrotanya.com/viewsonic_vx.../download.html and then I went to read my value is: PMS 0.18UF 250V.
You say, I Rtech done well?
I am not a professional but a fan of electronics and information technology.

    Thanks again

You may not find it easy to purchase them, you can try Farnell or RS,but the cost with postage will be quite a lot.Suggest that Ebay may well be your only option.

          Thanks Rtech.
Can I ask for some information?
In addition to the monitor I'm also trying to repair my Netgear router which goes some caps like the ones I bought.
A guy on a forum told me to use LOW ESR caps.
Not be happy with what I bought it for the monitor?

          thanks again

These two caps are NOT Electrolytic capacitors, and so forget ESR.
The remainder that you bought should be low ESR and a minimum temperature of 105 degrees Centrigade.

Friends ... even changing the two caps C213-C214 the problem persists.
I think that for a problem with the lamps.
Thank you all for the support you are providing me.

Do you have test lamps? If not you can use something like this:

Budm Thanks for having me put away.
In fact, I want to buy a tester for the lamps.
What I would like to understand is these testers but do not have a dedicated power supply?
                            Thank you!

You can use the existing power supply of your board to power it since this tester can run on 10~30VDC.

You will be using this section to power the lamp tester inverter.
Can you post the picture of the bottom side of the board in that red circle?

Re: Fujistu-Siemens LCD Color monitor B17-1 strange problem

So ..... I did just a beautiful mistake ....... but proceed with caution.

Having 3 monitors identical (the same brand and model) and having one repaired successfully thanks to your support to try to repair this one I felt so proceed, namely:

Removed the card working power and put under another monitor I'm trying to fix and everything works fine.

I did this test to see if it was a problem of lamps or the video card, but fortunately it is only a problem on the Power Supply board.

I reinstalled the power supply board monitor in its original and does not work!!! and as if trying to turn on but it goes in a loop and feels ta ta ta .....

                                      What have I done??

                                      thanks

                                            Hello to all,

I have a problem with monitor that is delivered together with CCTV system.
The monitor appears to be completely dead, there is no LED power diode and it doesn't react to pressed power button.

I have disconnect display and check many components on the power supply part of the board. There is no anything obvious and monitor is about 3 years old. There are no bulged caps. When measuring voltages on the output connector to VGA board I can measure stable 14.5 V on 12V pins and stable 5.07V on 5V pins. So I assumed that this part of the board is OK....

I have an intermittent display problem with my monitor, when I plug in the HDMI cable to my (or any) laptop, you see the connection screen shrink on the laptop as it usually would before displaying on the monitor but 95% of the time the monitor display stays black.

Before it cut out all together, tapping the monitor control button a fair few times would make the screen display, and everything work fine.

But now it never does it. Not sure what's going on, hoping someone can help. I'm capable of stripping the thing down and soldering in new parts if needed, or programming...

                                            Hello,
I have an Eizo SX3031W monitor and after a period i had problems with the tcon board. I did reflow, it went well for a while after but the problems appeared again. The second reflow attempt was a failure, the tcon board stopped working. In the meantime, I bought a perfectly functional Samsung 305T monitor from which I took the tcon board and installed it in the Eizo monitor. Since I turned on the monitor, the blue color appeared in the background instead of black. And also in Windows, appears blue instead of black. I tried various settings from the monitor and driver settings but...

I have a few successful experience in fixing tv backlight problem. But for monitor, I have no experience. However, I think they are more or less the same. Am I correct?

Recently, I got the captioned monitor and the owner said it could not be turned on. I open it up and found that one of the SMT capacitors seemed to be bad. I replaced it as well as the other one. The monitor still could not be turned on.

I found the power indicator is on. When I shine a flashlight on the screen, I can see the image. Therefore, I think it is with backlight problem. I took out the led strip....
