The yellow and the green wires on the LED driver board, those two wires I am not 100% sure as to which one is for BL_ON and which one is for DIMMING, but one of them does go up to >3V when monitor is ON. Right now I need that DCV on the 00V cap by the LED connector to see if the booster is working or not.

Hmm The missing cap is on the main board - had me looking for it for while.
Have you still got your pictures if so perhaps an indication of the size by comparing it to others on the board? Is it the same size as c721 or c715
C712 doesnt even look like a cap - it is black???? Burnt??

It looks like it's the same size as C721 and C712. I didn't take a picture of the back of the main board.

Seasonic B12 BC-550 – barely 2 years old and with BAD CAPS already!

I know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.

For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

(TLDR: It was capacitor C6519 [Koshin KZH 50V22uF] and C6515 [Koshin KZH 25V47uF] on the power supply. I have questions at the end)

Hey guys, I'm repairing a Denon AVR X6400h for my brother. It quit powering on after a power outage. It acted like this last time there was an outage, but after letting it sit overnight it started working again for a few years. This time letting it sit did not bring it back.

Operating caps well below rated voltage
                by Perry Babin
I think this has been answered but I couldn't find the thread.

Someone asked me if it would harm a capacitor (10F [not a typo], 24v) if it was operated on nothing more than 12v.

So, I ask... Does it change any of the capacitor's characteristics/parameters/? in any way if it is never operated near rated voltage?

If operated for years at 1/2 rated voltage, does it accept full rated voltage like it would if it had always been operated at the higher voltage?

                Or would it require reforming?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Acer Swift 3 SF314-42 not powering up
                by rutgerv
                Dear all,

For a friend I'm trying to repair an Acer Swift 3 laptop (SF314-42). I'm not a professional, but have some experience (both as amateur and professional) in working with electronic design and repair of musical instruments.

The issue with the Acer laptop is the following:
It was bought new and used (not heavily) at home for about three years. After normal use, it was put to sleep, connected to charger and left over night (just like any other day). The next morning, the laptop would not wake up from sleep. Instead, when pressing the power button, the power...
