      Re: Resistor question

OK I have been repairing monitors for 2 years as a hobby luckily all problem I have encountered, where bad capacitors, EEPROMS, transistors I am self taught by reading
all I can. Yes your right English is not my first language but I have been here 55 years

So basically understanding electronic terms can be a problem.

          Re: Resistor question

Ok - meter should be on 20vdc not 200vdc - you did have it plugged in to the mains ?

            Re: Resistor question

With meter on 20vdc plugged in power socket just with black probe on ground
            I get a fluctuated reading of -0.00 thru -.001

While checking all pins with black on ground 1thru 8 is -0.00
            fuse -0.00 both sides

On my meter minus is flashing with no power is this normal
I test a 12v battery and show 12v so I assume my multi meter is working
also tested my battery in my millimeter is ok.

ok back to the start. power board only plugged into mains.
meter on vdc600 very carefully test across the BIG cap.

You have replaced the .39 resistor?

EDIT - perhaps post a picture of your meter with the leads in where you normally have had them

According to my other posts about resistor.39 which confused me big time I thought it turned out to be good. I guess then I should change it.

From the readings of those 3 devices, it looks to me that they are shorted out and cause the power supply to be in shut down mode, I would all 3 of them off the board and see if the DC will come back.

                                            Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on a mid-70s Sharp Electronic Digital Clock Radio, Model FY-70CH. I found the service manual online, printed it out, and have been studying it for a while. My main reasons for tackling this are: (1) I want to learn electronics and figured I'd start with something I had on hand, and (2) I want to fix its issues. Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.

Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:
                                            The schematic...

The resistor on this waterpik blew. I changed it with the a similar spec 47ohm 2 watt yageo resistor but it still keeps blowing the resistor. Checking with the multimeter the motor, capacitor, diodes, and thermal fuse all checked normal. Will a higher ohm resistor work better? What ohm resistor will work better to repair this waterpik? This video is showing the repair with a 56 ohm resistor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_J7_rV7ui1Y

I have purchased an 100-240v AC/5v 2a DC adaptor from aliexpress, and a month ago It smelled burning when I plugin it powerstrip.
Since then, This AC/DC adaptor have been out of order.
But A few days ago,I replace 0.5 watt resistor with 1 watt resistor(1ohm) in this adapter.
After replacing resistor,It succeed to recharge all of android phone. And When I measure voltage on the two pins of USB port,It shows 5.5v
Is it okay to replace 1/2 watt resistor with 1 watt resistor in AC/DC adapter?
And Is there any possibility that it will suddenly explode as well as to be out...

Hoover FM216LI cordless vacuum refuses to charge
                                            by flat-earther
I have a Hoover FM216LI cordless vacuum which isn't charging its internal battery.

I opened up the unit, and it has 6x Samsung ICR18650-22P cells connected in series.
5 cells were at about 3.3-3.1V. one was at 2.4V, so I assumed this cell was bad that's why the vacuum wasn't charging so I replaced it with another 18650, but after that the problem still persists, the vacuum turns on a bit and then cuts out since the batteries are empty.

So I think the over discharged battery wasn't the culprit, it was a symptom of the unit not being able to charge its batteries....

                                            Xiaomi mi 9T missing resistor
                                            by badcap111
Hi, while trying to replace a broken screen connector on the motherboard, I knocked off a resistor next to the connector, and the resistor vanished. I have tried to find out the value of the resistor by looking at the schematics, but I cannot find the value. The ID of the resistor, or what you should call it, is R6400.

I don't know if the resistor is necessary for the phone to function, and the connector is still not soldered on to motherboard. I have contacted Xiaomi and asked them if they know the value, but they want a proof of purchase, which I don't have.

                                            Is...
