    Hanns-G HH251 with bad CCFL

    Hi guys!

just had this display going bad the other day.
The screen powered up, 2 seconds of light then it goes all black (but the status LED stays on green).

Opened it up, the secondary is good it delivers steady +5.2 and +12v (actually a bit low on the 12 volts.....it is somewere near 11.9 but at least they're steady).

I then tried the 4 CCFL. The top couple seems good as with these plugged in only, the display still lights up, while the lower couple doesn't. I tried plugging the 2 non working CCFLs in the other inverter and the result is the same, so to me it seems the problem must reside in the lamps themselves.

I unmounted all the LCD part of the display and found out that the lamps are broken near the electrode.

I'm now searching on the net for a replacement and I have no idea where to look for.

Do you know where to find suitable CCFLs for this panel in Europe?
The panel is an Hannstar TN Film with model numbero HSD250MUW2-A

    Thanks!

    Best Regards,
    Marco.

I have your monitor too with a possible trouble on power.
If your monitor is actually open, can you please verify that with power cord connected, but with monitor off, the +12v are active or there is only 5.2v active ?
It will help me troubleshoot my problem.
      Thanks in advance

For original spare parts try this:
      http://shop.teknema.it

      Another link with generic parts:
      http://it.eetgroup.com

and let me know where you will find the parts, in case i need it.

maudam hear me, i don't think 12v is your problem, make the test that members has suggested, with the 1k resistor, if you want you can put a 1k resistor also from 5,2v to pson even with psu detached from the rest, you will see 12v appear..
